A separate link provides an extensive information on Norwegian Jade staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
Norwegian Jade (2005-built, last refurbished in 2017 under the “Norwegian Edge” program and scheduled for refurbishment in February–March 2025) is the second vessel in the Jewel class of NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line, together with Gem, Jewel, and Pearl. The ship originally entered service as Pride of Hawaii (2006–2008) for the NCL America brand.
Norwegian Jade’s deck plan includes 1201 staterooms accommodating 2402 passengers (maximum capacity 2882) and a crew of 1040. The vessel has 15 decks (12 passenger-accessible, 8 with cabins), 19 dining venues, 11 bars and lounges, 3 swimming pools, 7 Jacuzzis (outdoor whirlpools), and 12 elevators.
NCL Jade deck plan changes – 2017 refurbishment review
Norwegian Jade’s 2017 drydock (March 7 – April 3), completed in Freeport, Bahamas, resulted in the following upgrades and modifications:
- Atrium décor refreshed, including replacement of the original chandelier.
- Installation of more than 2250 new artworks shipwide (including in all staterooms).
- All cabins refurbished with new furniture, carpeting, flatscreen TVs, and bed headboards with USB charging ports.
- The Haven Courtyard fully renovated, including updated outdoor deck finishes, pool and hot tubs, and new deck furniture and cabanas.
- Main pool deck areas refreshed.
- Spinnaker Lounge (deck 13) upgraded; Fitness Centre (deck 12) received new TechnoGym equipment.
- All Haven suites and villas refurbished with new furniture, finishes, wallpapers, carpeting, drapery, and artworks.
- Addition of several new venues: O’Sheehan’s Bar & Grill, Sugarcane Mojito Bar, The Cellars (Mondavi Family Wine Bar), Los Lobos Cantina (Mexican restaurant), and The Pit Stop (poolside grill, deck 13).
- Moderno Churrascaria relocated from deck 8 to deck 13 and redesigned with floor-to-ceiling windows and a new glass-door entrance.
- Bliss Ultra Lounge (nightclub) added on deck 7.
- All existing dining venues updated with new carpeting, artworks, upholstery, and window treatments, including La Cucina (deck 12), Cagney’s Steakhouse (deck 13), Teppanyaki Room (deck 7), Jasmine Garden (deck 7), and Garden Café (deck 12). Cagney’s received additional seating and a virtual fireplace; La Cucina received a new wine wall.
- Installation of new exhaust gas cleaning systems (“scrubbers”). The hybrid scrubber system (five in-line units) reduces the equivalent of approximately 1500 tons of sulfur oxide emissions. NCL was the first major cruise line to retrofit ships with a hybrid scrubber system while in service. The units can operate in dry mode as well as in open- and closed-loop configurations.
Drydock 2017 was part of the fleetwide “Norwegian Edge” enhancement program, a two-year project with a total budget of USD 400 million. Each shipyard period costs approximately USD 35–40 million.
