Each of the Norwegian Spirit cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Norwegian Spirit staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.
Norwegian Spirit (1998-built as “SuperStar Leo”, last refurbished in January 2025; “Norwegian Edge” upgrades in 2017) is the first LEO-class vessel and has no direct sisterships within NCL/Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet. The only other ship in this class is SuperStar Virgo/Star Navigator.
Norwegian Spirit’s deck plan includes 1006 staterooms accommodating 2018 passengers (maximum capacity 2414), served by 910 crew. The ship has 13 decks (10 accessible to passengers, 7 with cabins), 17 dining options (12 complimentary), 12 lounges and bars, 2 swimming pools, 5 Jacuzzis (outdoor whirlpools), and 9 elevators.
NCL Spirit deckplan changes – 2020 refurbishment review
The 2020 drydock refurbishment (January 2 – February 10) was completed at Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseille, France. This USD 100 million, 40-day project introduced 14 new venues (dining, bars, lounges), new staterooms, and a significantly expanded and redesigned wellness complex (Mandara Spa and Pulse Fitness).
New dining venues added during the refit include: Taste (the third Main Dining Room; complimentary), The Local Bar & Grill (24-hour complimentary venue), Garden Café (all-day complimentary restaurant), The Great Outdoors Bar & Grill (complimentary), Waves Pool Bar (poolside fast-food venue; complimentary), and Onda by Scarpetta (Italian specialty dining; at additional charge).
Three new lounges were added: Bliss Ultra Lounge and Spinnaker Lounge (the latter incorporating the Humidor Cigar Lounge). The former kids’ Splash Academy outdoor playground was replaced with Spice H2O – an adults-only relaxation complex featuring two large outdoor whirlpools and a poolside bar. In the evenings, Spice H2O transforms into a nightclub.
Mandara Spa was doubled in size to approximately 650 m² (~7000 ft²). Enhancements include a relaxation lounge with heated loungers, Jacuzzi Room, Sauna Room, Steam Room, and a thalassotherapy pool. The Fitness Center was enlarged and equipped with new gym machines.
The ship’s hull was repainted and received updated hull artwork.
NCL Spirit deckplan changes – 2017 refurbishment review
During the January 2017 drydock in Freeport, Bahamas, general maintenance and modernization work was carried out in public areas, restaurants, and top-tier suites. Crew-only spaces were also upgraded to enhance service efficiency, and technical systems were improved for better onboard power performance. Additional upgrades and full technical enhancements followed during the 2020 refit.
Both the 2017 and 2020 drydocks were part of NCL’s fleetwide “Norwegian Edge” enhancement program (a two-year, USD 400 million initiative). Each drydock cost approximately USD 35–40 million.
