Review of RV Irrawaddy Explorer
Lueftner Cruises entered the flourishing Burma river cruise sector with rv Irawaddy Explorer, one of two new vessels launched in Asia by the Austrian-owned company. Designed in English colonial style, the boutique 56-guest river boat operates 9-night itineraries to Mandalay from Prome, with the option of stays in Bangkok, Inle Lake and Rangoon.
Suites are situated on two decks. The 10 Maugham Staterooms on the Main Deck have French balconies and measure 292 ft2. The remaining cabins are located on the Upper Deck, and have balconies. The 14 Orwell Staterooms measure 281 ft2 each. All cabins feature queen-sized beds, that can be easily configured as twins. The 4 largest suites offer king-sized beds. Cabin amenities include flat-screen TVs with movies on demand, air-conditioning, premium mattresses, bathrobes, slippers, quality toiletries, and complimentary water replenished daily. The Mandalay Suites pamper with butler service.
The dining room on RV Irawaddy Explorer is situated on the ship's Main Deck. Complimentary drinks, such as tea, coffee, local beer, spirits and soft drinks, are served throughout the sailing. At dinner there is also free house wine.
Note: You can see the CruiseMapper's list of all river cruise ships and riverboats in the "itinerary" section of our River Cruises hub. All companies and their fleets are listed there.
