Amatista Amazon

MV Amatista (meaning "amethyst") is a classic wooden riverboat sailing on the Peruvian Amazon River. Amatista Amazon offers an authentic atmosphere while providing all the amenities necessary for a comfortable and relaxing journey. The vessel features air-conditioned cabins and private bathrooms, accommodating up to 30 guests. Ideally sized for navigating the Amazon River, Amatista includes a comfortable dining room, reading room, bar, sleeping quarters, and modern navigation technology for safe cruising.

Guests can relax aboard MV Amatista in the exterior bar lounge, interior lounge, lecture room, outdoor observation deck, lateral passageways, or the covered dining and sundeck offering a 360-degree panoramic view. The 15-member crew includes a Cruise Director and two bilingual naturalist guides (fluent in Spanish and English). The vessel is equipped with three lifeboats.

All cabins on RV Amatista Amazon are equally sized at 16 m² (170 ft²). Each stateroom is air-conditioned and features an exterior-facing window (mosquito net available on request), wardrobe, dresser, chest of drawers, and an en-suite bathroom with WC, shower, and a basket of amenities (including shampoo and soap). Hairdryers are available upon request.

Travelers should note that there is no mobile phone coverage during the Amazon cruise on Amatista. Computer and internet access are not available. In emergencies, the crew communicates with the company’s office via radio and satellite phone.

Inspired by the tropical flavors of the Amazon River, all food and beverages aboard Amatista Amazon are prepared using fresh, local ingredients. Meals include a variety of salads, fruits, and a selection of bread. Vegetarian dishes and kids' menus are available upon request made in advance. The cruise fare does not include alcoholic beverages (including wine by the glass and cocktails). Bottled water and non-alcoholic drinks are complimentary.
