MV Mist Cove Review
Review of MV Mist Cove
The 2000-built cruise ship MV Mist Cove and the fleetmate MV Liseron are the perfect boats for fishing charters, wilderness discovery adventures or family travel vacations. The Boat Company (shipowner) has spent around 40 years cruising Alaska, offering small-ship tours carrying just 20-24 passengers. This provides a more intimate setting, a higher degree of personal attention and greater freedom to go “off-itinerary”.
The vessel MV Mist Cove is currently USA-flagged (MMSI 366778440).
Cabins
MV Mist Cove has 10 staterooms (6 on the main deck, 4 on the upper “skiff” deck), all with queen-sized bed and twin upper bunk, plus 2 main deck rooms with side-by-side twin beds. There are temperature controls in each stateroom, roomy built-in wardrobe, dresser and several drawers, as well as a private bath with sink, hairdryer, toilet and stall shower. The screened picture-frame windows may be opened.
Shipboard facilities
The Mist Cove ship was patterned on Liseron but was designed from scratch and constructed of heavy-duty aluminum.
The interior is stately and plush, with mahogany accents throughout. The boat accommodates only 24 passengers. It features a comfortable main salon (common room), a cozy entertainment lounge, an open bar (for beer, wine, premium liquors and non-alcoholic drinks), an enclosed observation lounge and library.
All meals and snacks are prepared fresh by the onboard chef and are included in the fare. The company provides trained naturalist guides, entertaining and educational presentations, as well as hiking, beachcombing, nature walks, picnics, kayaking, fishing and wildlife viewing (binoculars are at hand in every room).
