MV Mist Cove Review

Review of MV Mist Cove

The 2000-built cruise ship MV Mist Cove and her fleetmate MV Liseron are ideal vessels for fishing charters, wilderness discovery adventures, and family vacation travel. The Boat Company (shipowner) has spent roughly 40 years cruising Alaska, offering small-ship tours for just 20–24 passengers. This allows for a more intimate atmosphere, a higher level of personal attention, and the flexibility to travel “off-itinerary.”

The vessel MV Mist Cove is currently USA-flagged (MMSI 366778440).

Cabins

MV Mist Cove has 10 staterooms—six on the Main Deck and four on the upper “Skiff Deck”—each featuring a queen-size bed and an upper twin bunk, plus two Main Deck cabins furnished with side-by-side twin beds. Every stateroom includes individual temperature controls, a spacious built-in wardrobe, dresser and drawers, and a private bathroom with sink, hairdryer, toilet, and stall shower. The screened picture-frame windows can be opened.

Shipboard facilities

Mist Cove was patterned after Liseron but designed entirely from the ground up and constructed of heavy-duty aluminum.

The interior is refined and comfortable, with mahogany accents throughout. Accommodating only 24 passengers, the vessel features a welcoming main salon (common room), a cozy entertainment lounge, an open bar (serving beer, wine, premium spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages), and an enclosed observation lounge with library.

All meals and snacks are freshly prepared by the onboard chef and included in the cruise fare. The Boat Company provides trained naturalist guides, educational presentations, and opportunities for hiking, beachcombing, nature walks, picnics, kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Binoculars are provided in every stateroom.
