Amangati Review

Review of Amangati

The 2027-built superyacht Amangati is the first cruise ship of the new travel brand Aman At Sea.

The vessel (under Cruise Saudi's Project Sama, hull designation/number MAR221) is currently under construction at T. Mariotti's shipyard in Genoa. It is slated for delivery and inauguration in May 2027. The exterior and interior ship designs were developed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design (based in Eemnes, Netherlands).

The vessel (IMO number 1034711) will be Malta-flagged (MMSI tba) and registered in Valletta.

By size, Amangati is similar to The Ritz-Carlton's ship Evrima (23000 vs 25400 GT tons), but has fewer staterooms (94 vs 149).

History - Construction and Ownership

Aman at Sea is a 2023-established luxury maritime brand created as a strategic joint venture company of Aman Group (1988-founded) and Cruise Saudi (2021-founded).

Aman at Sea aims to blend Aman's signature land-based hospitality ethos of privacy, tranquility, and exceptional service with premium cruise ship travel. Described as an experiential "ultra-luxury resort-at-sea", the brand's experiences are marked by bespoke itineraries, world-class shipboard amenities (spa, dining, entertainment), and highly personalized service.

Aman Group Sarl (registered in Baar, Switzerland) is a premier luxury hospitality company operating 35 ultra-high-end hotels and resorts (as of 2026, plus 8 properties under construction) across 20 countries. Aman Resorts (Aman Group's trading entity) is a multinational hospitality company founded by Adrian Zecha (1933-born Indonesian hotelier). Its current owner and CEO is Vladislav Doronin (1962-born Russian businessman).

Cruise Saudi (Jeddah-based) is a Saudi Arabian company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The state-backed company was established to develop a full cruise tourism industry along Saudi Arabia's Red Sea and Gulf coastlines. Cruise Saudi's mandate spans port infrastructure, passenger services, marketing, shore excursions, and vessel operations to position Saudi Arabia as a global cruise destination.

Decks and Cabins

Amangati staterooms (47 total) accommodate up to 94 passengers and are served by 207 crew/staff.

All passenger accommodations are in suite categories and, except the Host Suites, have floor‑to‑ceiling and wall-to-wall windows providing direct access to their private outdoor balconies.

Cabin sizes range from 700 to 3810 ft2 (65-354 m2).

The list of staterooms includes 1x Aman Suite (1970 ft2/183 m2 interior space plus 1840 ft2/171 m2 wraparound terrace, aft-facing), 2x Grand Suites (1100 ft2/102 m2 indoor plus 215 ft2/20 m2 balcony), 10x Signature Suites (870-920 ft2/81-85 m2, balcony included), 12x Premier Suites (785-795 ft2/73-74 m2, balcony included), 14x Deluxe Suites (700-730 ft2/65-68 m2, balcony included), and 10x Interior Host Suites (sized not officially announced).

Unlike the primary guest cabins, all of which have terraces, the Host Suites (midship on Deck 4) are inside cabins without outside views.

Suites emphasize natural light, high ceilings (up to ~8 ft/~2,5 m), and indoor‑outdoor flow to enhance the sense of space and connection with the sea. Standard cabin amenities include drop-down TVs, control centre tablets, high-speed Wi-Fi, spacious living areas with sofas and dining tables, and marble-clad bathrooms with two-sink vanities and hot tubs.

Flexible layout options allow some cabins (adjacent Premier and Deluxe suites) to connect into larger multi‑bedroom accommodations for families or groups.

To each passenger is assigned a dedicated host (on-demand service), whose services include unpacking/packing assistance, daily laundry, and pressing, in-cabin dining (breakfast, upon request).

The ship has 9 decks, 7 of which are passenger-accessible, and 4 have cabins.

Shipboard Facilities and Amenities

The 94-passenger Amangati has a series of unique features, including the aft Selora Marina & Lounge (a sundeck venue with a platform for launching watersports),an aft Beach Club (multi-level sundeck with pools), two Helipads (open-deck, helicopter-landing platforms), and six tenders (large-capacity boats for passenger tendering operations/boarding and disembarkation for shore excursions).

The ship's two helipads (forward on Deck 6 and aft on Deck 9) are designed to accommodate passenger arrivals and departures (arranged upon request) in addition to the standard aircraft landings for emergencies. The ship-helicopter service can be used to connect passengers to nearby airports or to more remote land-based destinations.

Next are reviewed the Amangati ship's venues, facilities and amenities by deck.

Floor 3

Tender Arrival is the designated area where passengers board or disembark the ship via tender boats when the yacht is at anchor and not docked directly at a pier. Tenders are smaller boats carried by the ship and used to transfer guests between the yacht and shore in ports that do not have proper docking facilities. This process enables arrivals, departures and shore excursions in destinations where direct docking is not possible.

Selora Marina and Lounge is the yacht's dedicated sea-access and water activity area that opens directly to the ocean. It comprises a Marina Platform that allows guests to enter the water for swimming, paddling, snorkelling and a range of other watersports using the provided water toys and equipment. Two floating platforms additionally support marine activities.

Adjacent to the water access area is the Selolra Lounge, which offers shaded seating and operational space where guests can relax, have refreshments and enjoy uninterrupted views at the water's edge. This combined space functions as both an embarkation point for water-based exploration and a place to rest beside the sea, integrating water access with casual onboard gathering and leisure.

Floor 4

The Lobby Hall houses both ship entrances (portside and starboard), the Reception/Guest Services and the Tour Office.

Medi Spa & Beauty Lounge is part of the wellness and grooming facilities designed to provide both medical-oriented treatments and aesthetic care in support of guest wellbeing. The Medi Spa functions as a contemporary medical-wellness space offering private consultation rooms, advanced therapies and treatments overseen by trained practitioners, while the Beauty Lounge provides services such as hair care, styling, manicures, pedicures, and express facials.

Medical Centre/Infirmary is a dedicated onboard facility designed to provide medical care for guests throughout a voyage. It is equipped to address both emergencies and general health concerns, with regular consultation hours and a medical team available around the clock for emergencies. Guests with specific health conditions or requirements, such as mobility support or oxygen use, are advised to inform the Aman at Sea Reservations Team before departure to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made.

Youth Lounge is an indoor venue designed specifically for children and teenagers aged 6 to 15 years. It functions as an entertainment and activity area featuring interactive leisure equipment such as two virtual-reality surf simulators, a foosball table, and gaming consoles (PlayStation and Xbox), providing recreational options tailored to younger guests during the cruise.

The Cinema is an indoor entertainment venue designed for private screenings. It is a small, dedicated theatre with 12 seats configured with reclining chairs, surround-sound audio, and acoustics arranged to provide a theatre-style experience. The Cinema is included in the standard fares and can be used for scheduled screenings (part of the ship's entertainment programming) or for private events and gatherings.

The Boutique is a curated retail space where guests can browse and purchase a refined selection of distinctive merchandise, including travel-ready apparel, curated accessories, fragrance, skincare and other objects. The shop's collection reflects the same thoughtful design ethos found throughout the yacht and includes items aligned with Aman Essentials and additional pieces connected to the onboard lifestyle. A related retail experience also extends into the Aman Spa with wellness-oriented products.

Aman Grill is a restaurant dedicated to the art of cooking over fire, where prime-aged meats, whole fish and fresh seasonal vegetables are prepared with precision and presented with thoughtful plating that reflects classical techniques. Tableside rituals and sommelier-led wine pairings are part of this dining concept.

The Bar at Aman Grill is an adjacent space serving aperitifs before dinner and nightcaps afterward.

Private Dining Room & Galley (Chef's Table) is a VIP dining venue designed for small groups of up to 10 guests. The menu offerings are drawn primarily from Aman Grill, with selections (exclusive, curated meals) available upon request. Behind these areas, the Galley (ship kitchen and storage rooms) is where the professional chefs and culinary staff prepare dishes for Aman Grill, the Private Dining Room, and related dining operations.

Floor 6

Aman Essentials is the curated retail and boutique space that presents Aman's branded lifestyle products and select travel-oriented merchandise. It offers guests access to Aman Essentials capsule fashion collections, travel accessories and other branded objects designed for use or enjoyment during the cruise, alongside exclusive collaborations specific to Aman at Sea. The presence of Aman Essentials aboard aligns with Aman At Sea's extension of its holistic hospitality ethos into curated physical goods for guests.

Gelato Bar is an onboard casual food and beverage offering where guests can enjoy gelato and light treats as part of the yacht's amenities. It is included in the standard voyage fare along with soft drinks, coffee, beer, and light bites available throughout the yacht, and is positioned near other leisure facilities such as the swimming pool and Pool Bar, forming part of the informal refreshment options separate from the vessel's formal dining venues.

Alira is the ship's principal all-day restaurant (main dining room) where Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is served in a relaxed, open-air setting designed to reflect coastal flavors and traditions from regions such as the Greek Islands, Amalfi, Provence, and Andalucia. The Alira Restaurant operates with flexible, open seating throughout the day and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and casual dining. The menus are shaped by seasonality, local produce, and the current itinerary/visited destinations. Alira is included in the cruise fares.

The Helideck (forward) serves as an Observation Deck and is accessible to passengers.

Floor 7

The fore-located Navigation Bridge/Wheelhouse and the adjacent Captain's Suite and officers' quarters are inaccessible to passengers.

Hiori is a Japanese-inspired restaurant that specifically celebrates Japan's art of teppanyaki. The venue offers chef-led preparation of dishes including sushi, miso, grilled wagyu, and fried rice. The food is presented in a format where the cooking process and the chef's performance are integral to the experience. Hiori's menu and presentation are driven by market-fresh and seasonal ingredients.

Akari is another Japanese restaurant that embodies the washoku culinary tradition, focusing on ingredients at their peak and careful presentation. It features an omakase counter where chefs prepare bespoke tasting menus based on guest preferences and market-fresh seasonal produce. The Akari Restaurant includes a Sake Bar offering a selection of premium Japanese sake.

Floor 8

Aman Spa & Fitness Studio with Reception and Spa Boutique is the principal wellness and fitness facility. This area includes an Aman Spa (sized 12820-ft2/1190-m2) that spans two decks and features 8 ocean-facing treatment rooms (for massages), each with its own terrace, shower and whirlpool bath. The spa complex incorporates traditional thermal elements such as a Hammam (Turkish bath/steam bath), and a Banya (Russian-style sauna room) alongside a Fitness Studio/Yoga Pavilion. A Reception area and Spa Boutique facilitate guest check-in and access to wellness products.

Cigar Lounge is an indoor space designated specifically for cigar smoking and similar tobacco use. It is the only location on the superyacht where smoking of cigarettes, cigars, pipes and e-cigarettes is permitted.

The Jazz Club is an indoor show lounge/entertainment and social venue that offers live music, craft cocktails and late-night bites in an evening setting. It is styled as a sophisticated lounge inspired by Aman's other Jazz Club concepts. The Jazz Club opens onto a large wraparound outdoor terrace and serves as a space for performances and relaxed gatherings after daytime activities.

Deck 8 also houses 10x outdoor pools - two Sea Pools (forward) and 8x Whirlpools/Jacuzzis (midship).

Amangati ship related cruise news

Amangati Wiki

On January 20, 2023, T. Mariotti announced it had signed a shipbuilding order under "Project Sama". Initially, Project Sama was scheduled for launch in 2026 under shipowner Neptune Co., a joint venture of Aman Group and Cruise Saudi. Also in January, the shipbuilder contracted De Wave Group (for the complete interior and exterior outfitting) and Ortec Santamaria (for the electrical systems). The subcontracts were signed by Mariotti's executives, Marco Bisagno (President) and Marco Ghiglione (Managing Director).

In 2025 were celebrated several milestones regarding the ship's construction. On April 7th was officially announced the vessel's name, Amangati, meaning "peaceful motion". On October 20th, the finished hull was transferred/towed from the San Giorgio di Nogaro shipyard to Genoa (arriving on December 17th) for final construction (assembly and outfitting). The assembly officially started on December 23rd.

Amangati is T.Mariotti's first newbuild with a dual-fuel and battery hybrid propulsion system. The superyacht generally operates on marine diesel and methanol, but also incorporates significant battery power (~5 MW) to supply hotel needs and enable low-noise operations without running the main engines.
