Color Magic ferry Wiki
The cruise ship is powered by four Wartsila marine diesel engines (8-cylinder, with a combined power output of 31.2 MW). The power plant also includes four auxiliary Wartsila diesel generator sets. Propulsion is provided by three bow thrusters (combined power 6.6 MW), two aft thrusters (combined power 2 MW), and two controllable pitch propellers (Rolls-Royce).
Currently, Color Magic is the world’s largest cruiseferry, followed by her sistership and fleetmate, Color Fantasy.
Color Magic was built by Rauma Shipyard in Finland.
During her drydock refurbishment in 2015, Color Magic’s Wartsila 8L46 engines had their turbochargers (model TPL 73-A30) upgraded to model TPL 73-A32, resulting in significant fuel savings and reduced exhaust gas temperatures.
