MS Crucevita Review
Review of MS Crucevita
MS Crucevita cruise ship was previously owned by WT Cruises (1995–2007, named “MPS Erasmus”), by Feenstra Rijn Lijn / Feenstra Rhine Line (2007–2011, named “MPS Da Vinci”), and since 2011 by Medi Ship AG. Under the name “Crucestar,” the riverboat is chartered by Crucemundo for the 2020–2025 period.
For Crucemundo, MS Crucevita operates itineraries along the Moselle, Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, as well as on the Belgian and Dutch waterways. Departures are available from homeports Mainz, Germany, and Amsterdam, Holland.
Before joining Crucemundo, MPS Da Vinci was seasonally chartered by the UK-based tour company Shearings Holidays.

Until 2019, the vessel (ENI number 07001839) was Holland-flagged (MMSI 244615820, registered in Maasbracht) and named “MPS Da Vinci.” From 2020 to 2025, she has been operated under charter by Crucemundo, Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057248, registered in Basel), and renamed “Crucevita” (MPS Crucevita).
The current charterer, Crucemundo SL (fleet), is a Barcelona, Spain-based river cruise company founded in 2008, with tour offices in Spain (Barcelona, Madrid), Italy (Genoa), Turkey (Istanbul), and Russia (Moscow, St Petersburg).
Cabins
MS Crucevita staterooms (55 total) are offered in two categories: Standard Cabins with windows (Main Deck) and Deluxe Cabins with French balconies (Promenade Deck). French Balcony cabins feature floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening to a railing, while Main Deck cabins have large non-opening picture windows. All staterooms accommodate two passengers (double occupancy only).
Each cabin measures 12 m² (130 ft²). The ship has no connecting cabins or suites. Regardless of category, all Crucevita cabins include standard complimentary amenities: Murphy beds (two fold-down wall beds), wall-mounted reading lamps, wardrobe, mirrored dressing table (writing desk with chair), en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet, hairdryer), electronic safe (in the closet), intercom phone, thermostat-controlled air conditioning and heating, 220V outlets, and HDTV with satellite reception, ship information channel, and real-time “View from the Bridge” webcam feed.
During the 2019 drydock refurbishment, all Upper Deck cabins were converted into French Balcony staterooms.
Shipboard facilities
MS Crucevita (formerly MPS Da Vinci) is designed like a private yacht, featuring rich textiles, premium leather furnishings, and dark wood interiors. On the Main Deck are the Dining Room Restaurant, Galley (kitchen and storage areas), wellness facilities (sauna and fitness room with modern equipment), crew cabins, and the machinery room (aft). The Promenade Deck houses the Bar Lounge, Lobby (with reception desk), and Library. The panoramic Bar Lounge offers wraparound windows with 270° views, an open fireplace, a baby grand piano, and comfortable seating with sofas and armchairs. The Library features a complimentary 24-hour coffee station.
The Sun Deck includes the Navigation Bridge (wheelhouse), a roof-covered Sundeck Lounge enclosed by window walls, and a spacious open-air area with outdoor furniture—deckchairs, loungers, and four-seat tables. All Sun Deck structures (wheelhouse, lounge, and railings) are collapsible and can be lowered to pass under low bridges.

The restaurant serves breakfast (buffet-style), lunch (buffet or three-course waiter-served), and dinner (four-course waiter-served). Vegan and vegetarian meals are available upon request. The traditional Captain’s Dinner, held once per voyage, is a five-course meal.
Both cabin decks are connected by an elevator and staircases (midship, forward, and aft). A chairlift links the Promenade Deck to the Sun Deck. The ship has no spa (massage room or hair salon) and no swimming pool. Shore excursions are not included in the cruise fares. Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship for an additional charge.
