Review of MV Esmeralda
MV Esmeralda is owned by Trans River Line (a German cruise tour company) and chartered by the UK-based Shearings Holidays. The riverboat was launched in 1979 and fully refitted in 1986. She offers a friendly, family-style atmosphere and a good level of comfort while sailing along the Danube River.
Cabins
The vessel accommodates up to 126 passengers on two decks and is fully air-conditioned. All 63 outward-facing staterooms feature satellite TV, twin beds, a safe deposit box, continental (220-volt) electrical outlets, and en-suite bathrooms with shower and WC.
Shipboard facilities
The ship boasts a spacious and welcoming lounge, which together with the bar was completely renovated in 2011. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served daily in the lounge. MV Esmeralda has an elevator connecting the Main and Promenade decks, as well as a stair lift between the Sun Deck and Promenade Deck. The partially covered Sun Deck is the ideal spot for relaxation.
The restaurant is located forward on the Main Deck and can seat all passengers in a single seating. On all Danube itineraries aboard Esmeralda, guests enjoy buffet breakfast daily. During the summer months, lunch is served as a 3-course menu and dinner as a 4-course meal with menu choices.
