Excellence Rhone

The 2006-built MS Excellence Rhone cruise ship is owned by Swiss Excellence River Cruise GmbH (Basel), a subsidiary of the travel company Twerenbold Reisen, and operated by Excellence Flussreisen (travel brand) through Reisebüro Mittelthurgau AG (marketing and sales).

The riverboat operates exclusively in France on itineraries along the Saone and Rhone rivers.

The ship features 71 comfortable staterooms and suites, accommodating up to 142 passengers. All accommodations are tastefully furnished and equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar, telephone, adjustable air conditioning, safe, and hairdryer. Window Staterooms have two portholes, while both categories of French Balcony Staterooms offer floor-to-ceiling sliding doors. The ship’s Owner’s Suites include an additional sitting area and a French Balcony with a floor-to-ceiling glass window.

MS Excellence Rhone is among the European cruise ships featuring step-out balconies. There are two Private Balcony Mini Suites, both located aft on the Upper Deck.

The spacious Sun Deck offers an open-air relaxation area and a glass-enclosed Sky Lounge with panoramic views. Additional facilities include a second lounge and bar, a dining room, and a library. An elevator connects the Middle and Upper decks.

The ship has no wellness facilities (spa, beauty salon or gym/fitness room).

Entertainment options include quiz games, themed dance nights (often with live music), and enrichment activities such as language lessons and lectures on folklore or regional history related to the cruise itinerary.

Dining onboard features a balanced breakfast buffet, afternoon pastries with coffee and tea, and a selection of European dishes for lunch and dinner. The attentive crew and professional tour guides ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The spacious Sun Deck houses the Wheelhouse, a Golf Putting Green, sun loungers/deckchairs, and shaded seating areas.
