The Douro Spirit is Portugal-flagged (MMSI 263751740) and registered in Lisbon. She was built by WestSEA Shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

The ship has 65 staterooms across two decks (Main and Upper), all exterior-facing with French balconies featuring floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. Of the 65 cabins, 62 are standard (14–15 m² / 150–160 ft²), one is a Junior Suite (21 m² / 225 ft²), and two are Balcony Suites (22 m² / 235 ft²). Suites include bathtub/shower bathrooms, while all other cabins have WC-shower baths. Apart from seven cabins fitted with non-convertible queen-size beds, all others feature twin beds convertible to doubles.

The Lower Deck houses the spa, gym, and the main dining room restaurant, Floating Garden, which serves Continental and regional Portuguese cuisine. Dining is open-seating, allowing guests to choose their preferred tablemates. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-style, while dinner combines buffet selections with waiter service. Complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks are served with dinner. Bottled water is provided daily in cabins (free of charge), while bar orders are charged separately.

The Main Deck features the midship Lobby Lounge (Reception Desk, Concierge Desk, and onboard Shop) and the forward Bar Lounge, which hosts daily lectures, port talks, and evening entertainment, including live music and dance performances. The Sun Deck offers a telescopic Wheelhouse (Bridge), a swimming pool with sunbathing area (deckchairs and loungers), and shaded seating areas with tables and chairs under retractable awnings. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, including in all cabins.
