MS Douro Princess

The 1999-built MS Douro Princess cruise ship has a passenger capacity of 80 guests, plus 20 crew and staff. The vessel operates roundtrip Douro River itineraries from her homeport Oporto, visiting ports in Portugal and Spain, including Vega de Terron/Salamanca.

The riverboat is owned by Mystic Cruises and operated by its fully owned Portuguese subsidiary, Douro Azul.

The ship is often chartered by the UK-based travel company Saga Cruises.

The vessel is Portugal-flagged (MMSI number TBA) and registered in Lisbon. She was built by WestSEA Shipyard, located in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

Onboard amenities include a restaurant, a lounge bar with large panoramic windows, and a partially shaded Sun Deck—all offering beautiful views of the surrounding Douro Valley landscape. The bar serves a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with passengers able to sign for beverages and settle their bar bill at the end of the cruise. Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day in the lounge. The restaurant, located on the Douro Deck, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Sun Deck provides open-air relaxation with padded loungers and deckchairs.

Douro Princess staterooms are distributed across two decks. All cabins are air-conditioned and equipped with twin beds, satellite television, hairdryer, and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Upper Deck cabins feature large windows, while Main Deck cabins are slightly larger but have smaller windows.

The partially shaded Sun Deck offers the best vantage point to enjoy the stunning Douro scenery. All guests dine in a single seating in the window-lined restaurant. Breakfasts and lunches are served buffet-style, while dinners are four-course, waiter-served meals. Evening entertainment features live performances by local musicians and dancers. Wi-Fi Internet access is available for an additional charge.
