Monserrat Galapagos Review

Review of Monserrat Galapagos

The 1973-built G Adventures' Monserrat ship is a premium yacht for Galapagos Islands cruise travel vacations. Originally created as a sturdy fishing boat, Monserrat was completely re-designed in 2011 as a tourist-class ship.

It offers environmentally and socially sensitive travel on small-sized vessels with some of the best passenger-to-staff ratios. G Adventures Galapagos fleet includes the boats Estrella del Mar, Monserrat, Queen of Galapagos, Xavier 3, Yolita 2. The 20-passenger cruise ship Monserrat is a boutique yacht with spacious outdoor spaces, comfortable cabins, cozy common areas, onboard naturalist guide for every 10 passengers.

The 20-passenger cruise ship Monserrat is named after the patroness of Catalonia in Spain, Virgin of Montserrat. For centuries, sailors have adopted her as loyal companion and protector through their voyages at sea.

Cruise itinerary program

MV Monserrat itinerary program is based on Galapagos Islands cruises sailing out of Baltra Island.

Cabins

The Monserrat ship has 10 air-conditioned, wood-paneled, carpeted, spacious cabins – 2 of them featuring double beds.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

Ship's comfortable Dining Room offers fresh and tasty international and local cuisine.

Since January 2019, G Adventures banned single-use plastics on cruise line's Galapagos ships, offering its customers 1 complimentary reusable water bottle per voyage. The decision was made after Galapagos Conservancy announced that since March 2019, non-returnable bottles would be no longer allowed on Galapagos cruises. In May 2018, on all Galapagos ships were banned plastic straws and plastic bags.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

Featuring a large sundeck, comfortable lounge area with LCDTV for briefings and relax, and a spacious top deck with a bar, the common spaces on Monserrat are as roomy as her staterooms. The social areas also include a Bar, Small Boutique and three Solariums. Wetsuits are available for rent. Beach towels and snorkeling equipment are included at no extra charge. With 11 dedicated crew members and 2 naturalist guides familiar with local flora and fauna and certified by Galápagos National Park Service, there is always someone available to answer guests' questions.
