MY Harmony G Review

Review of MY Harmony G

The 2001-built Harmony G cruise ship is a futuristic-looking superyacht owned by Variety Cruises (fleet). Delivered to the company in 2001, the vessel underwent a complete renovation during the 2009–2010 refurbishment, including upgrades to her public areas and cabins. Ideally sized to reach small coves, Harmony G cruises in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and the Red Sea, repositioning through the Suez Canal.

The vessel (IMO number 8984989) is Greece-flagged (MMSI 239780000) and registered in Piraeus/Athens.

Cabins

This cruise ship has four passenger decks and capacity for 43 guests. The 21 outside-only staterooms feature either portholes or picture windows. Cabins are offered in four categories: A and B (Main Deck) and C (Lower Deck), all differentiated by location. The four P-category cabins (Upper Deck) function as junior suites with seating areas that include convertible sofa beds. Cabin sizes range from 9 to 18 m² (100–195 ft²), which may seem compact by cruise ship standards but is spacious for a yacht. All accommodations are decorated in soft colors and include individual climate controls, TVs, safes, minifridges, bathrooms with hairdryers and showers, and either portholes or large windows. Beds may be double, queen, or twin.

Shipboard facilities

The sunny weather typical of Harmony G’s itineraries encourages guests to spend ample time outdoors, whether at the outdoor bar, relaxing on a sun deck lounger, or using the marina platform for water sports (kayaks and snorkeling equipment are provided).

Indoors, passengers will find a comfortable lounge with an adjacent bar and a dining room offering all meals in a single seating. Menu selections reflect the region’s cuisine. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-style, while three-course dinners offer table service. Cocktails and wine are available at an additional cost.

Onboard entertainment is limited to TV (in the lounge and in staterooms, local channels only). The superyacht offers Wi-Fi for an additional fee. A cruise coordinator provides shore excursion information and destination briefings.
