Moby Otta ferry Wiki

The ship entered service for Moby Lines in November 2006. Previously, she operated under several names: Tor Scandinavia (1976–1982, and again 1983–1991 with Tor Line), World Wide Expo (1982–1983, operated by DFDS), and Princess of Scandinavia (1991–2006, operated by DFDS).

The vessel was built by Flender Werft in Lübeck, Germany, under hull/yard number 608. Her powerplant consists of MAN-Pielstick marine diesel engines (model 12PC3V-480) with a total power output of 33.5 MW.

In 1998, Moby Otta underwent a major drydock refit, during which her gross tonnage increased from 15,673 to 21,545 tons. Additional cabins were installed, and her engines were replaced with SEMT Pielstick units (a MAN Diesel subsidiary).

Between November 2006 and May 2007, the vessel was drydock refitted and refurbished. This modernization increased her car capacity from 420 to 500, redesigned the cabin decks, and expanded passenger capacity from 1,507 to 1,900.
