Moby Wonder ferry

MS Moby Wonder is a Ro-Ro passenger ferry owned and operated by the Italian company MOBY LINES. The ship has a maximum capacity of 2,220 passengers and 750 cars. Launched in 2001, she currently operates on Mediterranean routes between Italy and Sardinia — Livorno–Olbia (crossing time approx. 6 hours) and Piombino–Olbia (crossing time approx. 5 hours).

Cabins

As a cruise ferry, Moby Wonder offers a total of 320 cabins, all air-conditioned and equipped with en-suite bathrooms (WC, shower, hairdryer). The company provides bed linens, towels, and toiletries. The ship also features wheelchair-accessible cabins (adapted for disabled passengers).

Moby Wonder’s stateroom categories include:

• Inside Twin (C2) – 2-berth, no windows
• Outside Twin (C2E) – 2-berth, with porthole window
• Inside Quad (C4, C4G) – 4-berth, no windows
• Outside Quad (C4E, C4EG) – 4-berth, with porthole window
• Outside Quad (J4E) – 4-berth Junior Suite (1 double bed), with porthole window
• Moby Lines cabin types C2G, C2EG, C4G, and C4EG are “Pet Cabins,” featuring linoleum flooring.
• Disabled-access cabins cannot be booked online (reservations available by phone: +49 (0) 611 14020).

All cabins are located on decks 6 and 7.

The ship’s Seating Lounge features large TVs and reclining Pullman seats (comfortable, fully reclining armchairs). Reserved seats can be booked online or onboard at the Reception Desk (subject to availability).

All passengers must vacate their cabins one hour before arrival at the homeport.

Shipboard Dining and Entertainment

Moby Wonder, classified as a “Fast Cruise Ferry,” offers a wide range of facilities and entertainment options:

• Accommodation options include private cabins and the Seating Lounge (standard coach seats and reserved leather recliners).
• Show Lounge (forward-located) – a three-deck-high piano bar lounge with comfortable seating and a stage for live performances such as stand-up comedy and musical shows.
• All lounges feature large satellite TVs.
• Dining options include: Self-Service Restaurant (buffet-style, with kids’ menu), À La Carte Restaurant (gourmet cuisine, fine wines, premium desserts), Acme Pizzeria (Looney Tunes-themed self-service pizza bar), Cafeteria (snack bar/patisserie/coffee shop serving fast food, pizza, and drinks), Gelateria (ice-cream shop), Sports Bar (two-deck aft-located sports-themed bar lounge), and Lido Bar (serving the sundeck area).
• All meals are prepared using locally sourced products, featuring traditional Mediterranean cuisine. The buffet restaurant always offers several freshly cooked dishes.
• Video Games Room – teen lounge with arcade machines.
• Children’s World – playroom with toys, games, climbing structures, and a full-size play boat.
• Moby Shopping Center – boutique and general store offering gifts, souvenirs, alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, clothing, sportswear, toiletries, electronics, toys, books, and magazines.
• Sun Deck (deck 9) – open-air solarium featuring sun loungers, a heated swimming pool (large plunge pool), and the Lido Bar (serving drinks and snacks).
• Also located on the Sun Deck are the Navigation Bridge (forward, with adjacent officers’ quarters) and a helipad (midship helicopter landing platform for emergencies).
• Wi-Fi and Internet access are available at extra cost. Mobile phone chargers and iPad rentals are also offered.

The ship provides kennels for domestic pets. Valid pet health certificates are required. During embarkation and disembarkation, dogs must be leashed and muzzled. Passengers traveling with pets disembark last.

All Moby Lines ferries are equipped with CCTV cameras for security. Smoking is prohibited inside the ship. Looney Tunes-themed décor and branding are featured throughout Moby vessels, thanks to the company’s partnership with Warner Bros.

Car Decks

All vehicles must have valid documentation and insurance. Providing the car’s technical data sheet can speed up boarding checks. When booking, the vehicle model, length, and height must be specified. Car ferry passengers are required to arrive at the port at least 90 minutes before departure.

The ship’s garage consists of four car decks with a total capacity of 750 vehicles, accessible via three ramp gates (two aft and one forward). Below are the car deck safety procedures:

• Disabled passengers or those needing special assistance should visit the Information Desk.
• Apply the handbrake and place the vehicle in park or 1st gear. Turn off the ignition, alarm, electrical equipment, and headlights. Gas cylinders must be turned off. Lock the vehicle.
• Take only valuables and essential hand baggage.
• Note your vehicle’s location and garage deck number/stairway before leaving the car deck.
• Access to vehicle (cargo) decks during the voyage is prohibited.
• Smoking on vehicle decks, in cabins, or passenger lounges is forbidden.
• Wait for the onboard announcement before returning to your vehicle.
• Do not start the engine until instructed, to prevent air pollution.
