Belmond Orcaella

Belmond Orcaella is a stylish Burma-based river cruise ship operating on the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers. Itineraries include ports of call such as Myanmar's largest city, Yangon (Rangoon)—the roundtrip departure port—as well as Bagan (disembarkation port) and Mandalay. MV Orcaella also visits remote temples and small villages near the border with India.

The riverboat is named after the Orcaella river dolphin, native to this part of Southeast Asia. Orcaella was designed in the style of the historic Irrawaddy Flotilla Company and was launched in July 2013 by Orient-Express Hotels. In 2014, the ship was renamed "Belmond Orcaella" after the company's rebranding to Belmond Ltd.

The ship accommodates up to 50 passengers per cruise and features a swimming pool, a wellbeing and fitness area, and a spacious observation deck. A resident doctor is available onboard in case of illness or emergencies. English-, German-, and French-speaking tour guides are also provided.

Orcaella's cabins feature Juliet balconies with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors that offer exceptional river views. All staterooms include air-conditioning, satellite TV, iPod docking stations, ample closet space, and luxurious pillows and bed linens. The spacious en-suite bathrooms are stocked with locally made soaps. Several Deluxe Cabins are interconnecting, making them ideal for families or groups traveling together.
