Mega Victoria ferry Review
Review of Mega Victoria ferry
MS Mega Victoria ferry (formerly Viking Amorella) is a Ro-Ro passenger vessel operated by the French company CORSICA-SARDINIA FERRIES. The ship has a maximum capacity of 2,480 passengers, 450 cars, and 57 trucks (trailers). She was launched in 1988 and currently operates on a TBA route (crossing time TBA).
On August 4, 2022, VIKING LINE announced the sale of the vessel (delivered on October 14th) to Corsica Ferries SAS. Reportedly, the ship (renamed "Mega Victoria") was sold for EUR 19.1 million, with a book value of EUR 3.2 million as of June 30th.
For VIKING LINE, Amorella operated the Sweden–Finland route Stockholm–Turku (crossing time 10 hours) via Åland (Mariehamn and Långnäs).
Cabins
As a cruise ferry, Mega Victoria has 1,946 berths. All staterooms are air-conditioned and feature en-suite bathrooms (WC, shower, washbasin), TV, radio, and telephone. Suites and Premium cabins additionally offer a hairdryer, refrigerator, double bed, and double sofa bed. The ferry company provides bed linens, towels, and toiletries. Some staterooms are wheelchair-accessible (adapted for disabled passengers and those with reduced mobility). Allergy Cabins are furnished with non-allergenic materials.
Cabins cannot be shared — if two passengers are booked in a four-berth cabin, the remaining two beds cannot be occupied by other travelers.

Mega Victoria ferry Wiki
The vessel was ordered on February 3, 1986, by SF Line (now VIKING LINE). She was floated out on July 18, 1987, delivered to SF Line on September 28, 1988, and commenced her maiden voyage on October 14.
The ship’s powerplant consists of four Wartsila marine diesel engines (model 12PC26V-400) with a total power output of 23.8 MW. Propulsion is provided by two shaft lines with fixed-pitch propellers and three thrusters (two bow and one stern). Her hull is ice-strengthened (classed “1A Super”), enabling navigation in icy waters without the assistance of an icebreaking vessel. Her sisterships include Crown Seaways, Pearl Seaways, Tallink Isabelle, and Viking Gabriella.
Throughout her service history (except for short periods in 1997, 1998, and 2002), the ship has continuously operated on the Turku–Åland–Stockholm route. Originally, she stopped only in Mariehamn, but since July 1999 she has called at the Åland Islands in both directions — Mariehamn on daytime crossings and Långnäs on nighttime crossings.
In January–February 2018, Viking Amorella and her fleetmate Viking Grace (both serving the Turku–Stockholm route) underwent extensive drydock refits. Responding to customer feedback, the shopping areas were redesigned, with more space dedicated to fashion products, wines, and champagnes. Onboard restaurants were refurbished and fitted with new tables. All category A4 cabins were renovated, and Inside family cabins (category BD3) were refitted with one double bed and one single bed (for children under 12 years). The former “Tapas and Wine Café” was transformed into the “Coffee and Wine Café,” featuring an enhanced menu with freshly baked goods, specialty coffees, Afternoon Tea service, and a “Wine Bar” in the evenings. The conference rooms were also fully renovated.
In January 2017, VIKING LINE announced that Amorella would leave the fleet in 2020, following the arrival of a new China-built ferry scheduled for delivery in spring 2020.
