Cruise Bonaria ferry is a Ro-Ro passenger vessel operated by the Italy-based company GRIMALDI LINES. The ship has a maximum capacity of 1912 passengers and 821 cars (or 110 cars and 104 trucks/trailers). The vessel was launched in 2001 and currently operates on the Italy–Sardinia ferry route Livorno–Olbia (crossing time 8 hours 15 minutes).

Cabins

As a cruise ferry, Cruise Bonaria has 192 cabins (including 103x Inside, 75x Outside, and 12x Deluxe) with a total of 732 berths. All staterooms are air-conditioned and soundproof, with en-suite bathrooms (toilet/shower/washbasin, hairdryer), lower and upper wall-mounted bunk beds, bedside table/cabinet with stool or chair, mirrored vanity (small writing table with chair or stool), phone, and wall-mounted reading lamps. The ferry company provides bed linens, towels, and toiletries.

Outside cabins feature a bay window. Deluxe cabins additionally offer a TV (satellite reception), mini-bar, double bed, and a 2-seater sofa. Two staterooms are wheelchair-accessible (adapted for disabled passengers). The ship also has 108 reclining seats (aircraft-style seats in reserved lounges) available for pre-booking.

All passengers must vacate their staterooms 30 minutes prior to homeport arrival.

The ship’s top deck is a Heli Deck with a helipad for emergency use.

The vessel has ample outdoor deck space. The Infirmary (ship hospital) provides 24-hour nurse service.

Emergency instructions are displayed in all staterooms, on TV screens, and at assembly stations. Life jackets are provided at muster stations. In case of emergency, elevators/lifts must not be used.

Pets on the ship

Pets are allowed on all GRIMALDI ships. Dogs and cats have access to dedicated onboard kennels. Other small animals (e.g., rabbits, birds, hamsters) must be in carriers.

• Pets are not allowed in cabins, lounges, or public rooms. They are only permitted on outer decks, accompanied by owners.
• During booking, choose "Pet up to 6 kg" for small pets in cages. "Pet over 6 kg" applies to animals needing kennels (must be pre-booked).
• Owners are responsible for feeding and cleaning up after their pets. Water is provided by crew.

Guide dogs travel free and are allowed in cabins. Assistance dogs for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility are also permitted.

Car decks

GRIMALDI ships transport semi-trailers, lorries (with or without drivers), cars, motorcycles (freight only), caravans, camper vans (without drivers), containers, mobile machinery, boats (on cradles), and industrial goods.

Car deck safety procedures:

• Passengers requiring assistance should visit the 24-hour Information Desk.
• Apply handbrake, park in 1st gear, turn off ignition, alarm, lights, and gas cylinders. Lock vehicle.
• Bring only valuables and essentials from the car.
• Note your vehicle’s location and garage deck/stairway.
• Access to car decks is prohibited during the voyage.
• Smoking is forbidden in vehicle decks, cabins, and lounges.
• Wait for the announcement before returning to your vehicle.

To prevent air pollution, engines must not be started until instructed.
