Finnstar ferry Wiki
Finnstar is the first of five Star-class ferries ordered by the GRIMALDI GROUP and built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri. She was delivered in July 2006. These Ro-Ro vessels were originally commissioned for FINNLINES to operate on Baltic Sea routes between Finland-Germany (Helsinki-Travemunde) and Sweden-Germany (Malmo-Travemunde). All Star-class ferries have ice-strengthened hulls (class "1A Super"), allowing them to sail in icy waters without icebreaker assistance.
Her power plant consists of 4x Wartsila marine diesel engines (model 9L46D, 5-cylinder) with a combined output of 48 MW. The vessel can also accommodate up to 192 refrigerated containers (reefers).
Her most recent drydock refurbishment was carried out from February 12 to March 5, 2018.
