Emerald Lumi

The 2027-built Emerald Lumi ship cruises on the Seine River, departing from Paris City (France). On the Seine is also deployed the sister-ship Scenic Gem (2014-built). Unlike the Holland-built Scenic Gem, Emerald Lumi was constructed by Scenic Group's shipbuilding subsidiary MKM Yachts (3 Maj Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia), which also builds the company's superyachts.

Scenic Tours' cruise line traditionally offers combined (back-to-back/B2B) itineraries that include TGV (high-speed train) travel from Paris to Bordeaux for embarking on the second leg of the B2B itinerary. This second part includes a Garonne River cruise from Bordeaux on another Scenic-operated boat. Some B2Bs combine the Seine cruise with a voyage on the Rhone and the Saone rivers, leaving from Lyon.

Scenic's France cruise fares are inclusive of hotel packages and land travel.

The vessel (ENI number tba) will be Switzerland-flagged (MMSI tba) and registered in Basel.

Emerald Waterways (2014-established) is a river cruise line company and travel brand owned by Scenic Tours. Similar to Viking River Cruises’ longships, Scenic Tours' innovative riverboat designs provide a high percentage of twin-balcony staterooms and larger venues with floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows.

Decks and Cabins

Most Emerald Lumi staterooms (68 total) have drop-down windows that convert the seating area into an indoor balcony lounge.

The ship has 8 cabin categories and accommodates 128 guests, served by 48 crew/staff. Except for the single-occupancy (Emerald Single Stateroom), all cabins are double-occupancy (maximum 2 passengers). Horizon Deck (3rd floor) houses the 6 Suites with step-out balconies.

All staterooms include as standard amenities Queen bed (convertible to twins, except ES Single cabins), bedside tables, mirrored panels, en-suite bathroom (WC, sink, shower cubicle, mirrored cupboards, clothesline, luxury bath products), walk-in closet, digital safe, direct-dial phone, HDTV (satellite channels, infotainment system, movies on demand, “View From the Bridge” webcam views), minibar (extra charge, complimentary in Owners Suites), individual climate control, 220V outlets, umbrella, shoe cleaner, and two sets of earplugs.

The boat has 4 decks, of which 3 have cabins.

Shipboard facilities

MS Emerald Lumi's facilities include the Horizon Bar & Lounge with an outdoor Bow Terrace (Deck 3 forward), Reflections Restaurant (Deck 2 forward) with an adjacent Galley (kitchen and storage rooms for provisions), an indoor Swimming Pool/night Cinema (with retractable roof, Deck 3 aft), wellness facilities (Gym, Beauty & Spa/massage room for treatments), and Guest Laundry.

The Sun Deck (4th floor) houses the Wheelhouse (Navigation Bridge), games area (giant Tic-Tac-Toe), 3-hole Mini-Golf Putting Green, a Walking Track (surrounding the sundeck area with deckchairs and shaded seating with awnings), Sky Barbecue (alfresco dining venue, forward), and passenger-use bicycles (stored by the Wheelhouse).

One lift/passenger elevator connects all cabin decks (1-2-3/Riviera-Vista-Horizon).

The ship has three dining venues - Reflections Restaurant (Main Dining Room, open seating with table service, buffet station at dinner, omelet station at breakfast), the Bow Terrace (alfresco lounge, serving breakfast and lunch), and the Sky Barbecue (alfresco, on the Sun Deck).

Horizon Lounge also doubles as a casual lunch venue with direct access to the Bow Terrace.

Weather permitting, special buffet lunches and dinners are hosted on the open deck at the Sky Barbecue.

One of Emerald Lumi's most innovative features is Horizon Deck's dual-purpose venue - the Daytime Pool & Bar. This is an aft-facing indoor pool deck with a rectangular swimming pool (size 260 ft2 / 24 m2, heated), a sunbathing area with padded loungers, and a retractable glass roof. In the evenings, the venue transforms into an Evening Cinema/movie theatre lounge. After dinner, the pool's base rises and creates a floor. All sunloungers are rearranged to face a large screen pulled down aft on the ship. During movie times, passengers are provided with complimentary popcorn and blankets. The Cinema is free of charge (on a first-come, first-served basis).

Itineraries

Emerald Lumi cruises on the Seine River (year-round deployment), leaving roundtrip from Paris.

The ship starts revenue operations in 2027, with the Maiden Voyage scheduled for March 27th.

For Emerald Lumi, Emerald Waterways planned the following Seine itineraries:

(main itinerary) 7-night/8-day "Sensations of the Seine & Normandy" starts and ends in Paris and visits Vernon, Rouen, Honfleur (overnight/days 4-5), Les Andelys, and Chateau De La Roche Guyon.

(cruisetour) 10-day "Paris and Sensations of the Seine & Normandy", and "Sensations of the Seine & Normandy and Paris" - include a 2-night hotel in Paris as a pre- or post-cruise extension.

(cruisetour) 11-day "London and Sensations of the Seine & Normandy" and 13-day "London to Paris and Sensations of the Seine & Normandy" - include 4 days in London (3-night hotel stay) and train travel from London to Paris for boarding the ship.
