MS Dutch Harmony

The 2009-built cruise ship Dutch Harmony (originally Viking Legend) is currently operated by the Dutch Cruise Line (Netherlands). The vessel is owned by the Grand Circle Corporation.

The Dutch Harmony (ENI 07001911) is currently Holland-flagged (MMSI 244071300). When sailing as Viking Legend, she was Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057308) and registered in Basel.

While owned by Viking River Cruises AG, Viking Legend operated on the Danube River, visiting Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia, with departures from Budapest and Passau. She was followed by her sistership, Viking Prestige. Both vessels were Viking’s first pre-longship “green” boats, powered by hybrid diesel-electric engines that produced fewer vibrations for a smoother, quieter cruise.

Viking Legend was designed for comfortable cruising on Europe’s rivers, featuring higher ceilings for a spacious atmosphere. With her optimized deck height and sleek shape, she resembles Viking Helvetia and Viking Sun but offers greater flexibility. As a Viking “green” ship, she is equipped with diesel-electric hybrid engines that reduce noise, vibration, and emissions by up to 20%.

Viking Legend offers 97 cabins in total, including 2 Suites, 66 French Balcony cabins, 24 with non-opening windows, and 5 Single staterooms, across 7 categories. The ship is designed for panoramic river views, with French balconies, large picture windows, hotel-style beds, and spacious open-air decks for guests to enjoy scenic cruising.

Shipboard Facilities

The Legend Restaurant (main dining room) and observation deck feature large panoramic windows. Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining on the Aquavit Terrace, located at the Legend Lounge’s outdoor seating area. The ship’s lobby atrium offers comfortable seating with wide observation windows, while the Sun Deck provides 360° views and a shaded seating area. Additional onboard facilities include a boutique, library, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. The ship does not have a gym, pool, jacuzzi, or spa.

Viking Legend cruise fares include Wi-Fi, all shore excursions, ground transfers, evening entertainment, daily lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee and tea service, and daily replenished bottled water.

River Cruise Itineraries

Below is the list of officially announced Viking Legend river cruise itineraries:

• “Danube Waltz” – 7-day river cruises from Budapest to Passau (and reverse). These itineraries include visits to four countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary) and six complimentary shore excursions. Passau disembarkation includes a bus transfer to Munich, with an optional 3-night Prague hotel package (Czech Republic). Passau embarkation includes a bus transfer from Munich and an optional 2-night Budapest hotel package.
