MV Tenacia is a Ro-Ro passenger ferry operated by the Spanish company TRASMEDITERRANEA. The ship has a maximum capacity of 869 passengers and 120 cars. She was launched in 2008 and currently operates on routes between mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands – Barcelona-Ibiza, Barcelona-Palma de Mallorca, and Palma-Ibiza (crossing times approximately 8.5 hours, 7.5 hours, and 4 hours, respectively).
Cabins
As a cruise ferry, Tenacia offers a total of 268 berths in 2-, 3-, and 4-bed cabins (inside and outside). All staterooms are air-conditioned and feature en-suite bathrooms. The ferry company provides bed linens, towels, and basic toiletries. Some cabins are wheelchair-accessible and adapted for passengers with reduced mobility.
All passengers must vacate their staterooms 30 minutes prior to arrival at the homeport. Passengers with reduced mobility are given boarding priority. Disabled passengers traveling with their own vehicles disembark last. All Trasmediterranea ships offer reserved seating adapted for passengers with reduced mobility and for visually impaired travelers, as well as public bathrooms designed for accessibility.
For passengers without cabins but with reserved seats, the ship provides a dedicated luggage room that remains locked during the voyage. The luggage allowance is 40 kg (bridge) and 30 kg (seating areas).

Tenacia ferry Wiki
This vessel belongs to the so-called Courage-Class (Coraggio) – the world’s first “cruise ferries”. These ships were specifically designed to combine freight transport with high-quality passenger services. They have a cargo capacity of approximately 2,620 lane meters, allowing the transport of up to 600 cars. The first Courage-Class ferries featured 67 cabins and 112 reserved seats, accommodating around 500 passengers, plus 30 “onboard camping” spaces for an additional 100 passengers. Starting from the fourth unit (Superfast 1), passenger capacity was increased to 1,000 by extending the superstructure. Onboard facilities include a restaurant, self-service cafeteria, piano bar, shops, and gaming rooms.
The 8-ship series includes Athena Seaways (2006), Rizhao Orient (2007), Tenacia (2007), Superfast 1 (2008), Victoria Seaways (2009), Superfast 2 (2009), Forza (2010), and Regina Seaways (2011). Each vessel is powered by two WARTSILA marine diesel engines (model 12V46B, total output 24 MW) and equipped with two controllable-pitch propellers.
Tenacia was launched on June 3, 2007, and entered service with GRIMALDI LINES on April 4, 2008.
