Athena Seaways ferry Wiki

This vessel is part of the Courage-Class (Coraggio) – the world’s first-ever "cruise ferries." These innovative ships were purpose-built to offer both freight transportation and high-quality passenger services. Each vessel has a cargo capacity of approximately 2,620 lane meters, accommodating up to 600 cars. The original Courage-Class design included 67 cabins and 112 reserved seats, with accommodations for 500 passengers, plus 30 “onboard camping” spaces for an additional 100 travelers. Beginning with the fourth unit (Superfast 1), the passenger capacity was increased to 1,000 by extending the superstructure. Onboard amenities include a restaurant, a self-service cafeteria, a piano bar, retail shops, and gaming rooms.

This 8-ship series comprises the cruise ferries Athena Seaways (2006), Rizhao Orient (2007), Tenacia (2007), Superfast 1 (2008), Victoria Seaways (2009), Superfast 2 (2009), Forza (2010), and Regina Seaways (2011).

Each ship is powered by two WÄRTSILÄ marine diesel engines (model 12V46B), with a combined output of 24 MW, and features two controllable pitch propellers for propulsion.
