MV Arethusa is currently owned and operated by GCCL-Grand Circle Cruise Line. Like her sistership Artemis, she has a maximum passenger capacity of 52 and is equipped with modern navigation and communication systems compliant with IMO safety requirements. The shipowner is Grand Circle Corporation via its subsidiary Grand Circle Travel USA, a Boston MA-based travel agency.
The cruise ship Arethusa is a megayacht-type passenger vessel (IMO number 9398022) designed to carry two small groups of 20–25 guests, each accompanied by a dedicated Program Director.
