Zeus Palace ferry Wiki

The vessel entered service on March 14, 2001. She was previously operated under the names Prometheus (2001-2005 by MINOAN LINES, a subsidiary of Grimaldi Group) and Eurostar Barcelona (2005-2009 by both GRIMALDI and MINOAN).

The vessel was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd (Geoje, Korea), under hull/yard number 1279. Her powerplant is based on 4x Wartsila marine diesel engines (model 12V46C), with a total power output of 50.4 MW. The propulsion system consists of 2x driveshafts with Wartsila-made CPPs (controllable pitch propellers). The hull is ice-strengthened (1A-class).

Between 2005-2008, the ferry served the Italy-Spain route Civitavecchia-Barcelona. In 2010, she served the Sicily-Sardinia route. Between 2012-2014, she served the Greece-Italy route Patras-Igoumenitsa-Ancona. In the period 2014-2017, the ship was deployed on the Italy-Tunisia routes Civitavecchia-Trapani (Sicily)-Tunis and Salerno-Palermo (Sicily)-Tunis. The Olbia line was added in 2017.

In 2022 (April 11th through July 1st, and Sept 19th through Dec 31st), Zeus Palace operated the new Italy-Sardinia line Savona-Porto Torres with 3x weekly crossings. Departures from Savona were on Tuesdays and Thursdays (at 8:30 pm) and on Saturdays (at 6:30 pm). Departures from Porto Torres were on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (at 8:30 pm). In the summer (July 2nd through Sept 18th), weekly crossings were increased to 6x in both directions.

Ferry's sisterships are Moby Tommy and Mega Express 3. The other "Palace"-named ferries are Mykonos, Festos and Knossos. The ship is powered by four Wartsila marine diesel engines (model 12V46C, total power output 50.4 MW) and has two shafts with controllable pitch propellers for propulsion.
