MS Amadeus Queen Wiki

On March 9, 2018, Luftner Cruises confirmed the shipbuilding order for a second 164-passenger boat (Amadeus Star) sistership to Amadeus Queen. Both riverboats feature indoor swimming pool (located aft on Mozart Deck 3, with recessed outdoor sun deck) and the adjacent Amadeus Club (company's new "wine cellar bar" concept).

These new class ships were designed to target younger, millennial-generation cruise travelers. For the new project, Luftner partnered with Zaven Global (US-based incentive travel and promotion company) for creating / training brand influencers via "experiential events". On each voyage, a celebrity influencer serves as host while sharing the cruise tour experience with her / his social media followers. The influencer's job is also to organize a special onboard program focusing on trendy topics (nutrition, dieting, fitness, weight loss, healthy living, etc).

By this project, onboard dining times and food menus were changed, as well as the types of tours and excursions ashore. Among the changes implemented were the open-seating dinner (your-time dining between 6-9 pm), various healthy food menu items, mobile apps available for millennial passengers (to plan their own excursions), yoga instructors on the ships (leading outdoor / Sun Deck lessons, also acting as lifestyle guides), themed onboard activities.

The new boat was christened in Amsterdam on April 4, 2018, by godmother Corina Luftner - daughter of Wolfgang and Martina Luftner (cruise company's founders).

Next table shows the boat's "inaugural cruise" itinerary as ports and port times. The 8-day cruise tour (themed "Tulip Serenade") was a roundtrip from Amsterdam, with prices starting from USD 2130 pp (double occupancy Window Cabin rates).
