MS Amadeus Queen Review
Review of MS Amadeus Queen
MS Amadeus Queen cruise ship is the 15th luxury riverboat of the Austrian cruisetour company and shipowner Luftner Cruises. Launched in 2018, Queen and the sistership Amadeus Star (2019) were specifically designed for itineraries on Danube, Main and Rhine rivers, as well as on the Belgian and Dutch waterways.
Cabins
The new Luftner vessel follows the award-winning model of Amadeus Silver ships but provides further innovative developments. The concept of the spaciousness of the cruise line has been maintained, including not only generous public areas but spacious cabins: a total of 12 large suites impress with outdoor balconies and cozy reading corners while the 69 standard staterooms mainly feature luxurious bathrooms and panoramic window fronts that can be automatically lowered to form French balconies.
Shipboard facilities
The Panorama Dining Room boasts unforgettable views whilst passengers enjoy delicious meals. A new onboard highlight is an indoor pool, with a roof that can be opened in fine weather. The area may be used for informative talks and cinema showings in the evenings.
The River Terrace open-air lounge is located in the bow of the ship. Its specially designed glazing offers a great view of the passing scenery while also providing protection against rain and wind. Other popular onboard amenities are the Amadeus Club, Panorama-Bar and Lounge, Sun Deck with deck chairs, Hair Salon, Massage Room, Fitness Room. The Amadeus Club is the perfect spot in which to share day's pleasures with a glass of wine and relax to the gentle sounds of classics and jazz. Guests can also send their greetings to their loved ones at home from the Internet stations in the Club.

MS Amadeus Queen Wiki
On March 9, 2018, Luftner Cruises confirmed the shipbuilding order for a second 164-passenger boat (Amadeus Star) sistership to Amadeus Queen. Both riverboats feature indoor swimming pool (located aft on Mozart Deck 3, with recessed outdoor sun deck) and the adjacent Amadeus Club (company's new "wine cellar bar" concept).
These new class ships were designed to target younger, millennial-generation cruise travelers. For the new project, Luftner partnered with Zaven Global (US-based incentive travel and promotion company) for creating / training brand influencers via "experiential events". On each voyage, a celebrity influencer serves as host while sharing the cruise tour experience with her / his social media followers. The influencer's job is also to organize a special onboard program focusing on trendy topics (nutrition, dieting, fitness, weight loss, healthy living, etc).
By this project, onboard dining times and food menus were changed, as well as the types of tours and excursions ashore. Among the changes implemented were the open-seating dinner (your-time dining between 6-9 pm), various healthy food menu items, mobile apps available for millennial passengers (to plan their own excursions), yoga instructors on the ships (leading outdoor / Sun Deck lessons, also acting as lifestyle guides), themed onboard activities.
The new boat was christened in Amsterdam on April 4, 2018, by godmother Corina Luftner - daughter of Wolfgang and Martina Luftner (cruise company's founders).
Next table shows the boat's "inaugural cruise" itinerary as ports and port times. The 8-day cruise tour (themed "Tulip Serenade") was a roundtrip from Amsterdam, with prices starting from USD 2130 pp (double occupancy Window Cabin rates).
