Amadeus Queen Review
Review of Amadeus Queen
The 2018-built Amadeus Queen cruise ship is a 160-passenger riverboat (the fleet's 15th vessel) owned by the Austrian company and shipowner Luftner Cruises, and operated via the Luftner-owned travel brand Amadeus River Cruises. The Queen and her sistership, Amadeus Star (2019), sail itineraries on the Danube, Main, and Rhine rivers, as well as along the Belgian and Dutch waterways.
The vessel (ENI number 2337456) is currently Germany-flagged (MMSI 211115500) and registered in Cologne.
Cabins
MS Amadeus Queen has 81 staterooms across four decks: the Sun Deck and three passenger decks named after famous Austrian composers—Haydn, Mozart, and Strauss.
The ship offers 51 French Balcony cabins (18 m² / 190 ft²) with large drop-down panoramic windows, and 18 Window cabins (16 m² / 170 ft²) with fixed, non-opening windows.
The 12 suites, all located on Mozart Deck (Deck 3), are 27 m² (285 ft²) and feature French balconies plus step-out balconies.
All staterooms (except singles) are equipped with queen-size beds convertible to twins, en-suite bathrooms (with WC and shower), seating areas, wardrobes, TVs, telephones, and individually controlled air conditioning.
Shipboard Facilities
The Panorama Dining Room offers stunning views while guests enjoy expertly prepared meals.
A key highlight onboard is the indoor pool with a retractable roof, which can be opened in pleasant weather. This space also serves as a venue for evening cinema screenings and informative presentations.
The River Terrace open-air lounge, located at the bow, features specially designed glass panels that provide excellent views while offering protection from wind and rain.
Other popular amenities include the Amadeus Club, Panorama Bar and Lounge, Sun Deck with loungers, Hair Salon, Massage Room, and Fitness Room.
The Amadeus Club is a cozy setting to unwind with a glass of wine while listening to classical or jazz music. Guests can also use the Club's Internet stations to send greetings to loved ones back home.

Amadeus Queen Wiki
On March 9, 2018, Luftner Cruises confirmed the shipbuilding order for a second 164-passenger vessel, the Amadeus Star, a sistership to Amadeus Queen. Both riverboats feature an indoor swimming pool (located aft on Mozart Deck 3, with a recessed outdoor sun deck) and the adjacent Amadeus Club, the company's new "wine cellar bar" concept.
This new class of ships was specifically designed to attract younger, millennial-generation cruise travelers. For this project, Luftner partnered with Zaven Global, a USA-based incentive travel and promotions company, to create and train brand influencers through "experiential events." On each voyage, a celebrity influencer serves as host, sharing the cruise experience with their social media followers. The influencer also leads a special onboard program focused on trendy topics such as nutrition, dieting, fitness, weight loss, and healthy living.
As part of this initiative, changes were made to onboard dining times and menus, as well as to the types of tours and excursions offered ashore. Notable updates included open-seating dinners (flexible dining between 6–9 PM), a variety of healthy food options, mobile apps for millennial guests to plan their own excursions, onboard yoga instructors (leading outdoor/Sun Deck sessions and acting as lifestyle coaches), and themed onboard activities.
The new vessel was christened in Amsterdam on April 4, 2018, by godmother Corina Luftner—daughter of Wolfgang and Martina Luftner, the cruise line's founders.
The following table shows the ship’s "inaugural cruise" itinerary, listing ports of call and scheduled times. The 8-day "Tulip Serenade" cruise was a roundtrip from Amsterdam, with prices starting at USD 2130 per person (based on double occupancy in a Window Cabin).
