Arosa Stella

A-Rosa Stella cruises in France on the Rhône and Saône rivers, departing from homeport Lyon. The other A-Rosa riverboat operating in France is her sistership, A-Rosa Luna. Both vessels—Luna and Stella—are registered in Germany, with homeport in Rostock.

Cabins

A-Rosa Stella features a total of 89 cabins (60 with French Balconies, 29 with non-opening windows) across 4 categories. Cabins are spread over three decks, each measuring 156 sq. feet and equipped with private bathrooms, writing desks, interactive TVs, and seating areas. Cabins on Decks Two and Three offer French verandahs—full-height glass doors that open inward, offering panoramic views though not walk-out balconies.

Shipboard facilities

A-Rosa Stella's dining and lounge venues include: Market Restaurant (main dining), Café Restaurant (al fresco), Wine Bar (regional delicacies and wine tastings), and Stella Lounge & Bar (for shows and lectures). The Sun Deck features bar/grill stations, a swimming pool, shaded observation area, giant chess, putting green, and other deck games.

The ship’s main restaurant, located on Deck Three adjacent to the Lounge, specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with a continental European flair. A-Rosa Stella stands out for her spacious indoor spa complex, which includes two saunas, a steam room, massage room, gym, and salon. An open-air swimming pool is located on the Sun Deck.

A-Rosa Stella cruise deals are all-inclusive, covering Wi-Fi Internet, all tours and excursions (including bicycle tours), motorcoach transfers, onboard entertainment (live performances, enrichment lectures), food and wine tastings, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits), 24-hour coffee/tea service, and daily replenished bottled water.

As the first of the line's two same-class vessels, A-Rosa Stella’s sistership is A-Rosa Luna, which also operates in France. Each ship is powered by two MTU Maybach marine engines (model “16V 2000 M60” diesel) with a combined output of 1600 kW / 2100 HP. Propulsion is provided by a “Z-drive” system from Schottel, featuring two rudder propellers (type “STP 500” twin propellers) and one Schottel Pump Jet azimuth thruster (model “SPJ 57”).

The ship’s wheelhouse (bridge) and top deck awnings can be lowered to safely navigate under low bridges. A-Rosa Stella also offers complimentary bicycles for land tours and shore excursions at each visited port.

A-Rosa Stella and A-Rosa Luna were officially launched and christened on April 7, 2005, in Rostock, Germany, and began their maiden voyages on the Rhône River in France on May 7.

From 2005 to 2019, A-Rosa Stella sailed under the German flag (MMSI number 211587790). In 2020, she was reflagged to Switzerland (MMSI 269057680).
