Oceania Arietta Review
Review of Oceania Arietta
The 2029-built Oceania Arietta cruise ship is the second of four "SONATA Class" vessels representing a modified VISTA Class design. Arietta's sisterships are Sonata (2027), TBN3 (2032), and TBN4 (2035).
The newbuild Arietta is the Oceania fleet's 10th vessel. It was designed and constructed by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in Venice (at Marghera Yard) and is currently scheduled for inauguration in August 2027.
Like all fleetmates, the vessel (IMO number 1036276) will be Marshall Islands/France-flagged (MMSI tba) and registered in Majuro.
History - construction and ownership
Oceania Cruises is a USA-based passenger shipping company and luxury travel brand owned by NCLH-Norwegian (shipowner), Between April 2007 and September 2014, the company (as part of "Prestige Cruise Holdings") was owned by Apollo Management LP, one of the world's largest private investment equity funds.
Since September 2014, Oceania and the sister company RSSC-Regent have been owned by NCLH, acquired at a total cost of USD 3 billion.
Since January 2026, Oceania has been an adults-only cruise line/sea travel brand.

Oceania ships offer luxury cruises with relatively shorter itineraries, as well as Around The World voyages up to 180 days in length.
The Arietta ship's design philosophy harmonizes grand, light-filled public spaces with serene, private enclaves, creating an ambiance that is both uplifting and indulgent for the discerning traveler.
Oceania Cruises' SONATA class vessels are the fleet's biggest, most spacious, and amenity-rich.
Decks and Cabins
Oceania Arietta staterooms (613 total in 16 grades) include 149 Suites, 444 Balcony cabins (of which 6x Solo/Studios), and 20 French Balcony. Most cabins are sized 245 ft2 / 23 m2. The largest passenger accommodations are the aft-facing Owners Suites (1335 ft2 / 124 m2 plus 665 ft2 / 62 m2 wraparound terrace).
Unlike the older fleetmates, Oceania's ship Arietta has no Oceanview (cabins with non-opening windows) and Interior cabins (without windows).
Around 30% of all passenger accommodations are top-tier suites, in addition to the Veranda Suites (standard balcony cabins). With the SONATA design, Oceania also introduced two new suite categories (Horizon Suite, and Penthouse Deluxe Suite), redesigned/expanded the Owner's Suites (2 full bedrooms), and also redesigned the Vista Suites (aft-facing), the Oceania Suites (having separate living/sleeping areas), and the Penthouse Suites (now paired with the new Deluxe Penthouses).
Suite & Concierge Lounge (Deck 9) is an exclusive space for guests staying in suites and Concierge Level staterooms. The lounge is a quiet and convenient retreat located close to these premium cabins. Access is controlled via keycard, ensuring a private environment.
Each cabin deck has a self-service laundry room with laundromats.
The boat has 15 decks, of which 12 are passenger-accessible and 8 have cabins.
Ship review (facilities and amenities by deck)
Oceania Cruises Arietta ship offers 12 dining options, of which 4 are fleet-firsts, and 4 are reservations-only restaurants, in addition to a Lido Buffet and casual food bars. All specialty restaurants are complimentary but require reservations for dinner.
The 9 restaurants (main and specialty) are Grand Dining Room, Jacques (French), Red Ginger (Pan-Asian), Polo Grill (steakhouse), Toscana (Italian), La Table (French), and Nikkei Kitchen (Peruvian‑Japanese).
Oceania Arietta has 12 distinct lounges/bars, including Sonata Lounge (theater), Casino Bar, Martinis (piano bar), Upper Hall, Grand Bar (wine bar), plus additional lounge/bar spots throughout the ship.
Deck 4
Sonata Lounge (Theatre/Show Lounge) serves as the main entertainment and performance venue. The space is designed to host evening live performances, production shows, and themed entertainment, making it one of the central social hubs for passengers after dinner or during scheduled entertainment times. It’s typically where the ship’s production team puts on large‑scale musical and dance performances that can include Broadway-style shows and other staged events, and it often doubles as a space for lectures, presentations, quizzes and enrichment talks during the daytime when shows aren’t scheduled. The lounge generally features comfortable tiered seating facing a stage area, good sightlines from most seats, and professional lighting and sound systems to support high‑quality performances. Because it’s a dedicated entertainment space, the atmosphere in Sonata Lounge is more formal than in casual bars or lounges - it’s where guests gather to enjoy planned entertainment that’s part of the cruise experience rather than drop‑in socializing.
The Theater hosts 4 main show productions developed by a professional team of producers, technicians, and performers to bring Oceania's shipboard entertainment to the highest level. The first three productions are titled "Into the Night", "Headliners", "The Anchor Inn", and "The Music Triangle".
- "Into the Night" (choreographed by Britt Benae Stewart. He is an American professional dancer and choreographer on the dance competition TV series "Dancing with the Stars" (a dance-themed production mixing dancing with styling and American Idol-like entertainment).
- "Headliners" is a VIP concert showcasing a resident cast/crew (vocalists and instrumentalists) performing some of the world's most popular songs from the repertoires of music icons like Bee Gees, Cher, Celine Dion, and Adele.
- "The Anchor Inn" is a UK-themed song-and-dance production set in the "Anchor Inn Pub" where a group of professional musicians celebrates British music's "good times" by recreating some of Britain's greatest hits by celebrities like Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Dusty Springfield, and Madness.
- "The Music Triangle" show is themed on the history of music.
LYNC Digital Center (digital help desk/connectivity services) is a technology‑focused enrichment and connection space and part of the ship's expanded learning and lifestyle programming. The center is designed to help guests boost their digital skills and stay connected during the cruise through complimentary classes and interactive sessions. At the LYNC Digital Center, passengers can participate in workshops covering topics such as smartphone photography, videography, social media tips, photo editing and other personal tech skills, all led by knowledgeable Digital Concierges who provide hands‑on guidance and personalized tips in small‑group formats. In addition to learning opportunities, the LYNC Digital Center functions as a comfortable social and tech hub where guests can connect with friends and family, edit and share their travel photos, access high‑speed connectivity, and even tackle business‑oriented tasks if needed. The space is equipped with the technology and support to use modern devices effectively while at sea, leveraging strong onboard Wi‑Fi capabilities (such as Starlink Wi‑Fi) to help guests stay in touch both on and off the ship.
Opus Lounge is a stylish bar lounge located amid the social and culinary venues on Deck 4, positioned alongside the Sonata Lounge and other public areas. The lounge offers a range of cocktail and social experiences, blending inventive mixology with a relaxed yet refined atmosphere where guests can enjoy drinks and conversation before or after dinner. The experience features the tableside‑prepared Old Fashioned at Opus Lounge, focusing on signature cocktails, attentive service, and a polished yet welcoming vibe.
La Table (aka La Table par Maitres Cuisiniers de France) is a brand‑new, ultra‑exclusive fine‑dining restaurant introduced with Oceania Sonata in 2027. The venue is notable because it is the only restaurant at sea launched with the endorsement of the prestigious Maitres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chefs of France/MCF), a globally respected institution devoted to French culinary arts. Chefs from this association, along with Oceania's own Executive Culinary Directors, create rotating menus for the restaurant that showcase exceptional French cuisine at its finest.
- MCF is a prestigious global association of top French chefs dedicated to preserving, promoting, and transmitting French culinary art and heritage, focusing on excellence, tradition, innovation, and quality products. MCF members act as ambassadors, training apprentices, organizing cooking competitions and championing French regions' cuisine and high-quality ingredients.
- The 18-seat La Table is a dinner-only VIP restaurant (at a surcharge), and reservations are required. It offers a rotating menu crafted by the ship's Executive Culinary Directors, and the MCF chefs Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale. The venue also revives Oceania Cruises' signature Dom Perignon Experience, delivering a 6-course tasting menu paired with three vintage Champagnes.
Toscana is a 96-seat signature Italian specialty restaurant showcasing Italy's culinary heritage. The menu focuses on classic Italian flavors rooted in family traditions and regional techniques, especially from Tuscany and other northern Italian regions. It features authentic, beautifully prepared Italian dishes such as octopus carpaccio with Champagne vinaigrette, artichoke and Parmesan timbale with black truffle sauce, homemade gnocchi with pesto, lobster risotto, and pan‑fried sea bass. Toscana is a dinner‑only complimentary restaurant that requires reservations. Oceania Vista's godmother (chef Giada De Laurentiis) created two signature dishes served only in the restaurants Toscana and Grand Dining Room.
Polo Grill (steakhouse specialty restaurant) is a refined, dinner‑only venue that focuses on premium grilled and seared dishes in the tradition of an upscale American steakhouse, emphasizing rich flavors and quality ingredients. Polo Grill's ambiance is elegant but comfortable, featuring dark wood decor, crisp white table linens, and plush leather seating that creates a club‑like atmosphere. The menu centers on high‑quality beef cuts (often USDA‑certified Angus that's aged to enhance tenderness and flavor) prepared to guests' preferences. Alongside steaks, the offerings usually include premium seafood such as grilled swordfish or whole Maine lobster gratinee and classic starters like a traditional Caesar salad. Polo Grill is open for dinner only and typically requires reservations. It's one of the complimentary specialty restaurants, but it is more formal and culinary‑focused than the casual dining venues, appealing to guests who appreciate classic steakhouse fare, attentive service, and a fine‑dining ambience.
The Lobby Hall houses the Reception Desk (guest services/check-in area), Destination Services Desk (information and shore excursions), the Concierge Desk (concierge services), and the Future Cruise Sales Desk (onboard cruise booking).
Adjacent to the Lobby is the Library (quiet reading and relaxation lounge) providing 1000+ books, many of which are port/destination guide books.
Deck 5

The Boutiques are duty-free shops where guests can browse and purchase luxury goods and travel items during their voyage. These shops carry a range of merchandise such as fine jewelry, watches, perfumes and cosmetics, designer fashion, and Oceania-branded merchandise (souvenirs, gifts, convenience products). The ship's shops (managed by Harding UK) sell top brands like Chanel (fashion), Louis Vuitton (fashion), Foreo (beauty products), Sisley (skincare, makeup, fragrances, hair care products), Neal's Yard Remedies (essential oils, cosmetics, skin care products), Augustinus Bader (skincare), Beauty Thinkers (olive-based antioxidant preventative skincare creams), ready-to-wear garments, handbags, shoes and accessories by Hermes and Gucci.

Guests can expect an extensive martini list with numerous variations on the theme, and bartenders are experienced in preparing both traditional classics and inventive cocktail twists.
Artist Loft is a dedicated creative enrichment space, part of Oceania;s onboard enrichment program and functions as a studio‑like art center. It is staffed by artists‑in‑residence who lead informal workshops in various artistic mediums such as painting with watercolors or oils, sketching, collage and other creative crafts. The art sessions are designed to welcome all skill levels (from complete beginners to more experienced artists). The materials are provided for participants to work on projects inspired by the sea, destinations, or personal themes. These classes are usually offered during sea days and may run multiple times, giving guests opportunities to learn new techniques, develop their artistic talents and create pieces they can take home as unique keepsakes from their voyage.
Casino is the ship's designated gaming and entertainment space/gambling lounge offering a mix of table games (blackjack, poker, and roulette) and assorted slot machines. The staff are available to explain rules and help new players get started. The Casino operates only when the ship is in international waters (i.e., not while in port).
