Scenic Crystal

MS Scenic Crystal cruises on the Moselle, Danube, Main, and Rhine rivers on itineraries visiting Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Departures are offered from homeports Amsterdam, Basel-Zurich, Nurnberg-Nuremberg, Budapest, and Prague. Itineraries starting from Paris City include a flight to Amsterdam, Holland (embarkation port).

Scenic Crystal is the first in a series of four new-class Scenic Tours ships launched between 2012 and 2016. Her fleetmates are named Scenic Jade, Scenic Jewel, and Scenic Amber. These luxury riverboats, along with the 2015-launched ships Scenic Jasper and Scenic Opal, are part of the line's expansion program. This positioned Scenic Cruises among the leading European river cruise lines.

Cabins

All Scenic river cruise ships in Europe operate with all-inclusive deals. These vessels are also nearly one-fifth longer but have smaller guest capacity compared to standard-design riverboats sailing on the major European rivers and inland waterways. This type of design (patented as "space ships") allows for larger cabins and more spacious public areas. A signature feature of all Scenic Cruises "space ships" is the cabin balconies called “Sun Lounges”. These are outdoor terraces that easily convert into indoor lounge areas. Scenic Crystal has a total of 85 cabins (of which 73 are balcony suites) in 16 grades across 4 passenger decks (including two decks entirely dedicated to balcony cabins).

• More than 80% of the accommodations feature full-size balconies. Every room has a “Scenic Slumber Bed” (queen-size) with fine linens and a pillow menu. Junior and Royal Suites offer butler service.

Shipboard facilities

Scenic Crystal restaurants include Crystal Restaurant, Portobellos (Italian), Riverview Terrace (al fresco), and Table la Rive (Diamond Deck, for Suite passengers only). The ship also features a Panorama Lounge, River Cafe, Wellness Centre (Gym and Spa), shop, an elevator (connecting all cabin decks), and a spacious top deck with a served terrace and shaded seating area. On all price-inclusive Scenic cruise tours and excursions ashore, guests receive GPS tracking devices (called ScenicTailorMade) with uploaded digital maps. These also function as listening devices for live narration provided by the line's local expert tour guides during group excursions. Binoculars and bicycles are also provided complimentary so guests can fully enjoy the scenery along the itinerary.

Scenic river cruise deals are among the industry's most all-inclusive. All meals, drinks (except French Champagne and the highest-end liquors), excursions, butler service, and Internet are included in the fares. Even the drinks in the cabins' mini-bars are complimentary. Scenic Tours cruises traditionally attract travelers from Australia and the UK, with a steadily growing number of Americans, Canadians, and Germans. Passengers are typically aged 55+, financially comfortable, and well-traveled.
