Arosa Brava Review
Review of Arosa Brava
A-ROSA Brava cruises on the Rhine and Moselle rivers, departing from Cologne, Germany. The riverboat entered service in 2011 as the last of three identical sister ships, following A-ROSA Aqua and A-ROSA Viva. Included in the cruise fare are gratuities, shore excursions, roundtrip air, specialty beverages, and cocktails.
Cabins
Nearly 70% of A-ROSA Brava's accommodations feature a French Balcony. The ship does not offer Suites. These "Juliet Balcony" staterooms have two floor-to-ceiling doors that open inward, providing scenic river views. The ship has 99 cabins in total, including 70 with French Balconies and 29 with non-opening windows, across 4 cabin grades.
Shipboard Facilities
The main dining venue, the Market Restaurant, is located on Deck Three next to the Lounge and specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with a continental European flair. Additional venues include the Café Restaurant (casual, afternoon tea), Wine Bar (featuring regional specialties), Brava Lounge & Bar, and the Sun Deck (with Mobile Bar & Grill, shaded seating, giant chess, and a putting green). The Brava Atrium serves as the ship’s lobby.
Notable onboard amenities include a large spa, fitness center, and salon, as well as a sauna and steam room. There’s also a whirlpool on Deck 3 and complimentary bicycles for use during port stops.
A-ROSA Brava’s all-inclusive cruise deals cover Wi-Fi Internet, all shore excursions (including biking tours), ground transfers, onboard entertainment (live performances, enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings), 24-hour coffee and tea, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits), and daily replenished bottled water.
Cruise fares are per person based on double occupancy. Prices are indicative and may vary depending on booking time, travel agency promotions, group rates, special offers, or last-minute deals.

Arosa Brava Wiki
The A-ROSA Brava river ship belongs to the same vessel class as the A-ROSA Aqua and A-ROSA Viva. Each of these ships is powered by four energy-efficient Volvo Penta diesel engines (model D12-450MH), delivering a total output of 1320 kW (1800 HP). In addition, each vessel is equipped with two auxiliary diesel generators and one port-operation diesel generator. Propulsion is provided by Schottel systems—specifically, one SPJ 82 bow thruster and four STP 200 rudder propellers (twin-propeller type).
The ship’s wheelhouse (bridge) and the awnings on the top deck are designed to be lowered when passing under low bridges. A-ROSA Brava also offers complimentary bicycles for use during shore excursions in each port of call.
A-ROSA Brava was launched on April 1, 2011. The ship was christened in Frankfurt by Mrs. Miriam Brockmann, a schoolteacher and winner of the contest for the “Most Charming Frankfurterin.” During the week leading up to the christening ceremony, the vessel navigated under its own power through the North Sea-Baltic Canal from Rostock to Cologne, where final outfitting was completed. For the transfer voyage in March 2011, the ship was safeguarded with wooden paneling.
