Occasionally, the largest Grimaldi ships are used for Mediterranean mini-cruises—especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Euroferry Olympia Wiki
The vessel’s construction began on January 31, 1994 (keel-laying ceremony). She was launched on December 29, 1994, and delivered to the shipowner (Poseidon Schiffahrt) on May 1, 1995. The ferry was previously operated under the names Transeuropa (1997-2013, owned by FINNLINES) and Euroferry Olympia (since November 2013, owned by Grimaldi Group).
The ship is powered by four SULZER marine diesel engines (8-cylinder, model 8ZAL40S) with a combined power output of 23 MW. Her hull is ice-strengthened (ice class 1A), allowing year-round operations on Baltic Sea routes in extreme ice conditions without icebreaker assistance. Her sisterships from the same series are Finntrader, Finnpartner, and Euroferry Egnazia.
Between 1995-2000, the ship served the Germany-Finland route Travemunde-Helsinki. From 2009 to 2012, she was deployed on the Germany-Russia route Travemunde-St Petersburg. In 2012-2013, she operated on the Rostock-Helsinki line with two weekly departures in each direction (crossing time 36 hours).
On December 19, 2013, she was introduced on a new Italy-Greece route (Ravenna-Igoumenitsa-Patras) with two weekly departures from Ravenna (Wednesdays at 12-noon and Saturdays at 6 pm). Arrivals in Greece were scheduled in Igoumenitsa (Thursdays at 3 pm and Sundays at 9:30 pm) and in Patras (Thursdays at 10:30 pm and Mondays at 5 am). Departures from Greece were from Patras (Mondays at 10 pm and Thursdays at midnight) and from Igoumenitsa (Tuesdays at 6 am and Fridays at 9:30 am), arriving back in Ravenna on Wednesdays (7 am) and Saturdays (midnight).
