Itineraries

Allure of the Seas operates 7-day Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Florida homeports—Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral. In 2015, the ship was deployed to Europe for the first time, offering 7-day Western Mediterranean cruises from Civitavecchia-Rome and Barcelona. Repositioning is done via transatlantic crossings between Europe and Florida.

Starting November 10, 2022, Allure was homeported in Galveston, Texas.

From October 30, 2023, Allure began operating 3- and 4-night Bahamas cruises out of Port Canaveral, visiting Nassau and CocoCay. This marked the first time an Oasis-class ship offered short Caribbean cruises. In July 2024, Allure relocates to Miami to continue the same itineraries.

Allure Of The Seas ship related cruise news

Allure Of The Seas Wiki

Allure of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's second Oasis-class ship, with sisterships Oasis, Harmony, Symphony, and Wonder. Until Harmony's debut in 2016, Allure and Oasis were the world’s largest cruise ships. Allure was marginally longer than Oasis—by just 50 mm (nearly 2 inches). The names for both ships were selected in May 2008 through an online competition.

Allure OTS is among the few cruise ships christened by a cartoon character—Princess Fiona from the movie *Shrek*. The naming ceremony was held on November 28, 2010, at Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale). Her maiden voyage departed December 1, 2010, sailing to both Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations.

Allure features telescoping funnels to allow passage under bridges. Oasis-class ships were the first cruise vessels to receive the DNV Green Passport—an integral part of the Clean Ship Design certificate, which, while voluntary, underscores Royal Caribbean’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The hulls of both Allure and Oasis are coated with non-toxic material that reduces friction and improves fuel efficiency.

On November 4, 2016, the world’s three largest cruise ships—Harmony, Allure, and Oasis—gathered off the Florida coast. This unprecedented event, livestreamed by Royal Caribbean, coincided with Harmony’s arrival at Port Everglades at the conclusion of a 13-night transatlantic crossing from Barcelona (Oct 23 – Nov 5).

The ship’s namesake is Oceania Cruises' Allura (2025-built).

Allure OTS 2025 Refurbishment (Royal Amplified)

From February 23 to April 10, 2025, Allure will undergo a 42-day, USD 100 million drydock at Navantia Shipyard (Cadiz, Spain) as part of the Royal Amplified program.

Planned upgrades (~14,000 tasks) include new staterooms, waterslides, redesigned dining venues, and new specialty restaurants, bars, and lounges. Many enhancements are inspired by features from Quantum- and Oasis-Plus-class ships.

The Pool Deck will be fully revamped to include resort-style pools, in-pool loungers, daybeds, and an expanded Solarium (adults-only) with new dining and drink options (e.g., Samba Grill).

New water features will include The Perfect Storm slide trio (Cyclone, two Typhoon racing slides, and the champagne bowl-style SuperCell), plus Splashaway Bay—a kids’ aqua park with mini-slides, fountains, water cannons, splash pools, drench buckets, and jacuzzis.

New dining and bar venues include the Pesky Parrot (tiki bar with fruit-based and frozen rum/gin/tequila cocktails) and The Mason Jar Restaurant & Bar (Southern US comfort food with live country music).

The 10-deck Ultimate Abyss waterslide will be added, along with a glow-in-the-dark Laser Tag Arena and the Royal Escape Room experience "Apollo 18: Lunar Landing".

Youth spaces will be upgraded: Adventure Ocean (kids) and Social298 (teens) will feature video games, music, movies, and social areas.

New staterooms will include the Ultimate Panoramic Suite (bow-facing), located above the Navigation Bridge.

Allure OTS 2020 Refurbishment (Royal Amplified)

The original 2020 drydock (March 13 – May 9) was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Spanish port closures. Only hull and machinery maintenance (~EUR 16 million / USD 17.5M) was completed. The remaining upgrades were deferred to 2025.

The original USD 165 million project (58 days) planned at Navantia Shipyard included the following upgrades:

  • Deck 16 aft: addition of the 10-deck Ultimate Abyss waterslide
  • Deck 15 Pool Deck: full renovation, addition of "The Lime and Coconut" bar, new shaded areas (daybeds, hammocks, casitas), refreshed Solarium with two whirlpools, entrance for "The Perfect Storm" slides
  • Deck 15: H2O Zone replaced by Splashaway Bay; addition of Portside BBQ and El Loco Fresh
  • Deck 14: addition of the Royal Escape Room ("Mission Control: Apollo 18") and new inside/oceanview staterooms
  • Deck 14 forward: Adventure Ocean refurbished with themed rooms (Play Place, The Workshop, Arena, Hangout, AO Theater, AO Babies, AO Junior)
  • Deck 6 (Boardwalk): addition of Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Sugar Beach candy store, Beach Shop; landing zone for Ultimate Abyss
  • Deck 5: redesigned retail complex with new brand stores

New entertainment venues include "Spotlight Karaoke" (stage, trivia nights, private party rooms), "Music Hall" (2-deck live music venue with dance floor), and "Bionic Bar by Makr Shakr" (robot bartenders). A new laser tag experience, "Clash for the Crystal City", was introduced in Studio B (deck 3). Dining options were expanded with the fleet’s first "Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar".

The 30-day technical drydock completed in mid-November 2020. Palfinger Marine (based in Salzburg, Austria) serviced all 18 lifeboats and 20 winches. Each lifeboat holds up to 370 people.
