Scenic Ruby

The Scenic Ruby boat cruises on Danube, Main and Rhine rivers in Europe. The itineraries visit the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic. Departures are from Amsterdam, Nurnberg (Nuremberg), Budapest and Prague. Itineraries with Paris (France) include the flight to or from Amsterdam Holland.

Scenic Ruby was launched in 2009 as one of Scenic Cruises popular “space ships”. If you are from USA or Canada, you may have never heard of this European river cruise line. The reason is that its parent company from Australia (Scenic Tours) hasn’t marketed to North Americans. The extraordinary “space ship” class design offers plentiful and most spacious cruise cabin and public areas, as well as one of the highest in the industry passenger-space ratio.

Cabins

A signature feature of all Scenic Cruises "space ships" are the cabin balconies called “Sun Lounges”. These are outdoor terraces which easily convert into indoor lounge areas. Scenic Ruby ship's standout features include the “Sun Lounge” balconies in most staterooms. All meals, drinks (except luxury Champagne brands and highest-end liquors), tours and excursions, butler service and the Wi-Fi Internet are included in the fares. The special amenities in all cabins include television-Mac computers, glassed-in showers, L’Occitane products. Scenic Ruby has a total of 85 cabins (of which 70 balcony suites) in 14 grades.

• More than 80% of the accommodations feature full-size balconies. Every room has a “Scenic Slumber Bed” that is queen-size, with fine linens and a menu of pillows. Junior and Royal Suites offer butler service.

Shipboard facilities

Scenic Ruby restaurants include Crystal Restaurant, Portobellos (Italian), Riverview Terrace (al fresco), Table la Rive (Ruby Deck, for Suite passengers only). There is also a Panorama Lounge, River Cafe, Wellness Centre (Gym and Spa), shop, an elevator (connecting all cabin decks).

On all (price-inclusive) Scenic cruise tours and excursions ashore, guests receive GPS tracking devices (called ScenicTailorMade) with uploaded digital maps. They also double as listening devices for the live narration by the line's local expert tour guides provided on all group travel excursions. Binoculars and bicycles are also provided complimentary to fully enjoy the scenery everywhere along the Scenic river cruise itinerary route.

Scenic river cruise deals are among the industry's most all-inclusive. All meals, drinks (except the French Champagne and highest-end liquors), excursions, butler service, and Internet are included in the fares. Even the drinks in cabins' mini-bars are complimentary.
