Scenic Ruby

The 2009-built Scenic Ruby ship cruises on the Danube, Main, and Rhine rivers in Europe. The itineraries visit the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Departures are from Amsterdam, Nurnberg (Nuremberg), Budapest, and Prague.

Itineraries that include Paris (France) feature flights to or from Amsterdam (Holland).

The vessel (ENI number 07001907) is currently Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057294) and registered in Basel.

Scenic Cruises' “space ship” class design features plentiful and spacious cabins and public areas, as well as one of the highest passenger-to-space ratios in the industry.

Cabins

A signature feature of all Scenic Cruises "space ships" is the cabin balconies called “Sun Lounges”. These are outdoor terraces that easily convert into indoor lounge areas. Scenic Ruby's standout feature is the “Sun Lounge” balcony available in most staterooms. All meals, drinks (except luxury Champagne brands and the highest-end liquors), tours and excursions, butler service, and Wi-Fi Internet are included in the fares.

Special amenities in all cabins include TV-Mac computers, glass-enclosed showers, and L’Occitane bath products.

Scenic Ruby has a total of 85 passenger staterooms (70 of which are balcony suites) in 14 grades.

More than 80% of the accommodations feature full-size balconies. Every room has a “Scenic Slumber Bed” (queen-size) with fine linens and a menu of pillows. Junior and Royal Suites offer butler service.

Shipboard facilities

Scenic Ruby restaurants include Crystal Restaurant, Portobellos (Italian), Riverview Terrace (al fresco), and Table La Rive (Ruby Deck, for Suite passengers only). There is also a Panorama Lounge, River Cafe, Wellness Centre (Gym and Spa), shop, and an elevator (connecting all cabin decks).

On all price-inclusive Scenic cruise tours and shore excursions, guests receive GPS tracking devices (called ScenicTailorMade) with uploaded digital maps. These devices also function as listening devices for live narration by the line's local expert tour guides during group excursions. Binoculars and bicycles are also provided complimentary, allowing guests to fully enjoy the scenery along the Scenic river cruise itinerary route.
