Review of MS Belvedere
The 2005-built MS Belvedere (originally Avalon Poetry) operates cruises along the Danube River. The vessel is the last of six nearly identical riverboats initially owned by Premicon AG and constructed by Nobiskrug Superyachts in Rendsburg, Germany. Premicon’s limited partnership investment was approximately EUR 8 million, with an additional EUR 7 million contributed by private investors.
In 2018, Premicon AG sold the ship to KD Cruise Services Ltd (Limassol, Cyprus), a fully owned subsidiary of KD Line (Köln-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt GmbH), part of Viking Cruises. The vessel is currently chartered by Select Voyages and renamed “Select Belvedere” for the charter period. Her previous charterer was the UK-based company CMV River Cruises (a brand of Cruise & Maritime Voyages UK).
In 2019, the ship (ENI number 9948010) was officially renamed Select Belvedere, and her flag state changed from Malta (MMSI 256421000, registered in Valletta) to Switzerland (MMSI 269057650, registered in Basel).
Cabins
MS Belvedere offers spacious, bright, and well-designed cabins. Staterooms on the Rhine and Danube decks feature two panoramic windows that open onto French balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the passing river scenery. Cabins on the Moselle Deck have extra-large portholes that provide beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.
Shipboard Facilities
MS Belvedere impresses guests with its elegant restaurant serving gourmet cuisine and an expansive sun deck perfect for relaxation. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the vessel, allowing guests to stay connected and share their travel experiences. The onboard wellness area features a sauna, jacuzzi, and loungers for ultimate relaxation, while the fitness room offers modern cardio equipment for maintaining an active routine.

MS Belvedere was one of three riverboats chartered by CMV River Cruises in Europe, alongside MS Bellejour.
