MS Belvedere

The 2005-built MS Belvedere (originally Avalon Poetry) operates cruises along the Danube River. The vessel is the last of six nearly identical riverboats initially owned by Premicon AG and constructed by Nobiskrug Superyachts in Rendsburg, Germany. Premicon’s limited partnership investment was approximately EUR 8 million, with an additional EUR 7 million contributed by private investors.

In 2018, Premicon AG sold the ship to KD Cruise Services Ltd (Limassol, Cyprus), a fully owned subsidiary of KD Line (Köln-Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt GmbH), part of Viking Cruises. The vessel is currently chartered by Select Voyages and renamed “Select Belvedere” for the charter period. Her previous charterer was the UK-based company CMV River Cruises (a brand of Cruise & Maritime Voyages UK).

In 2019, the ship (ENI number 9948010) was officially renamed Select Belvedere, and her flag state changed from Malta (MMSI 256421000, registered in Valletta) to Switzerland (MMSI 269057650, registered in Basel).

Cabins

MS Belvedere offers spacious, bright, and well-designed cabins. Staterooms on the Rhine and Danube decks feature two panoramic windows that open onto French balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the passing river scenery. Cabins on the Moselle Deck have extra-large portholes that provide beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes.

Shipboard Facilities

MS Belvedere impresses guests with its elegant restaurant serving gourmet cuisine and an expansive sun deck perfect for relaxation. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the vessel, allowing guests to stay connected and share their travel experiences. The onboard wellness area features a sauna, jacuzzi, and loungers for ultimate relaxation, while the fitness room offers modern cardio equipment for maintaining an active routine.

The ship’s reading lounge and library provide a peaceful retreat for reading and unwinding. The onboard language is English, and the Program Director, Tour Escort, guides, and key staff are English-speaking.

MS Belvedere was one of three riverboats chartered by CMV River Cruises in Europe, alongside MS Bellejour.

Under CMV’s charter, MS Belvedere operated a variety of Danube itineraries visiting 10 European countries and 3 major capital cities. The routes showcased stunning riverside scenery and significant cultural and historical landmarks.

• The 8-day “Majestic Danube” itinerary was a roundtrip from Passau, with prices starting from USD 1,900 per person (all-inclusive).
• Fares included all-day beverages (not limited to lunch and dinner), four guided city tours, and all onboard gratuities.

Ports of call on the “Majestic Danube” itinerary included:

1. Passau (Germany) – boarding at 3 p.m., departure at 5 p.m.
2. Melk (Austria) – arrival 8 a.m., departure 12 p.m. (excursion: Melk Abbey)
3. Vienna (Austria) – arrival 7 a.m., overnight stay, departure 6 p.m. (tours: Strauss-Mozart Concert, Vienna by Night with Wine Tavern visit, Vienna city tour)
4. Budapest (Hungary) – arrival 11 a.m., overnight stay, departure 12:30 p.m. (tours: Budapest City Tour, Budapest at Night)
5. Bratislava (Slovakia) – arrival 6:30 a.m., departure 4 p.m. (excursion: Bratislava City Tour)
6. Durnstein (Austria) – arrival 3 a.m., departure 12 p.m. (excursion: City Tour)
7. Passau (Germany) – arrival 7:30 a.m., disembarkation between 9–10 a.m.
