MS nickoVISION

MS nickoVISION was built in 2018 in Sremska Mitrovica (Serbia). The riverboat is owned by Scylla AG (Baar, Switzerland) and operated under charter by the Stuttgart-based cruisetour company Nicko Tours (a fully owned subsidiary of Mystic Invest Portugal). MS nickoVISION cruises on the Danube River, with departures from Frankfurt, Passau and Budapest.

The vessel (ENI number 07002093) is Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057649) and registered in Basel.

Decks and Cabins

MS nickoVISION has 4 passenger decks and a total of 110 staterooms for 220 passengers. All cabins are outside, equally sized (14 m2 / 150 ft2) and equipped with a double bed (convertible into 2 twins/lower beds), deluxe bedding (linens, pillows, duvets), bedside tables, wall-mounted reading lamps, large mirror, wardrobe, writing desk with armchair, and an en-suite bathroom (glass-wall shower, WC, mirrored washbasin/single-sink vanity). Additional amenities include a hairdryer, HDTV (satellite reception, infotainment system), intercom phone (onboard calls only) and individually controlled air-conditioning.

Main Deck cabins feature one non-opening window (quarter-height, located near the ceiling). All Middle and Upper Deck cabins are French Balcony staterooms with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a railing (false balcony).

One passenger lift connects all cabin decks, while staircases interconnect all decks. A stairlift links the Upper Deck (deck 3) with the Sun Deck (deck 4).

WiFi and laundry services are available at an additional cost.

Shipboard facilities and amenities

MS nickoVISION features three restaurants: the Dining Room (Middle Deck forward), the Specialty Restaurant (Main Deck forward) and Mario’s Grill (Upper Deck aft). Both the Dining Room and Mario’s Grill (Steakhouse) have floor-to-ceiling windows. The Specialty Restaurant has non-opening, quarter-height windows located near the ceiling.

The Dining Room offers single-seating capacity with open seating, while the other two venues require reservations. Its menu includes both regional dishes (based on itinerary countries) and international cuisine. The Specialty Restaurant also offers themed buffets.

The Lobby (Middle Deck) houses the Reception Desk (24-hour guest services), Tour Office (Cruise Director; excursion information and bookings) and Gift Shop. The ship has no Hair Salon (no hairdresser services).

Midship on the Main Deck is the wellness complex, featuring a small Fitness Room, Sauna, Spa (Massage Room) and a Relax Room with loungers.

The Sun Deck offers retractable awnings (shaded seating with 4-seat tables and chairs, full bar service), an aft deck games area (Putting Green / Mini-Golf), and a heated swimming pool with shower and loungers. The sunbathing area is furnished with sun loungers and deckchairs.

The forward Panorama Lounge (Upper Deck) has floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable seating (two-seat sofas and chairs), dance floor, grand piano (resident pianist) and its own bar. Onboard entertainment includes daily live music performances, cooking demonstrations, quiz games, bingo, crew shows, themed dance nights, enrichment lectures and media presentations related to itinerary destinations and excursions. The Lounge and Dining Room share an open-floor layout connected by a sweeping staircase.

The company offers optional shore excursions (not included in cruise fares) at each visited port. Tours include sightseeing, guided city walks, cycling tours and bus trips to nearby attractions. All guided tours include complimentary audio headsets.

MS nickoVISION cruise fares include all onboard meals (breakfast buffet, waiter-served lunch and dinner, afternoon coffee with cake, midnight snacks), Welcome Cocktail, Welcome Dinner, Gala Dinner, onboard entertainment, ship tour and port taxes. Fares do not include flights, transfers, excursions, insurance, gratuities, beverages or personal expenses.

The vessel’s construction (hull and superstructure, ENI number 07002093) was completed at the Vahali Shipyard in Zasavica (Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia). The Dutch shipbuilding company Scheepswerf en Machinefabriek Vahali BV (founded in 1923) owns and operates shipyards in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and in Holland (Gendt). Vahali Shipyard Zasavica officially opened in 2013. After construction in Serbia, the riverboat was towed to Holland for final outfitting at Scheepswerf Vahali (Gendt).
