Oceania Allura Review
Review of Oceania Allura
The 2025-built Oceania Allura cruise ship was constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Sestri Ponente (near Genoa), Italy. Allura is the second of two vessels built by the Italian shipbuilder for Oceania Cruises’ new ALLURA class, following Vista (delivered in 2023).
The 1,200-passenger ships Vista and Allura are comparable to the sisterships Marina and Riviera, but incorporate several key design changes, particularly in outdoor areas and passenger accommodations.
Oceania Allura (the Oceania fleet’s eighth ship) was commissioned on July 10, 2025.
Like all fleetmates, the vessel (IMO number 9876969) is currently Marshall Islands/France-flagged (MMSI 538011254) and registered in Majuro.
The ship’s namesake is RCI-Royal Caribbean’s liner Allure of the Seas (built in 2010).
History - construction and ownership
Oceania Cruises is a US-based passenger shipping company and luxury travel brand owned by NCLH-Norwegian (shipowner). Between April 2007 and September 2014, the company (as part of Prestige Cruise Holdings) was owned by Apollo Management LP, one of the world’s largest private equity investment funds.
Since September 2014, Oceania Cruises and sister company RSSC-Regent have been owned by NCLH, following an acquisition valued at a total of USD 3 billion.
Since January 2026, Oceania Cruises has operated as an adults-only cruise line and sea travel brand.

Oceania ships offer luxury cruises with relatively shorter itineraries, as well as Around The World voyages lasting up to 180 days.
Decks and Cabins
Oceania Allura staterooms (613 total in 16 categories) include 149 Suites, 444 Balcony cabins (including six Solo/Studio units), and 20 French Balcony cabins. Most accommodations measure approximately 245 ft² / 23 m². The largest passenger suites are the aft-facing Owner’s Suites, sized at 1,335 ft² / 124 m², plus a 665 ft² / 62 m² wraparound terrace.
Unlike other fleetmates, Oceania Allura has no Oceanview cabins (with non-opening windows) and no Interior cabins (without windows).
The ship has 15 decks, of which 11 are accessible to passengers and six contain cabins.
Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks
Oceania Cruises’ Allura offers a total of 12 dining venues (four of them fleet-firsts), including four reservation-only specialty restaurants, a Lido buffet restaurant, and several casual food bars. Specialty restaurants are complimentary but require dinner reservations. At lunchtime, the venue transforms into La Brasserie, serving French bistro-inspired cuisine. Dinner offerings (200+ new recipes) include a “Chef’s Recommendations” section curated by Chef Alexis Quaretti, along with new starters, entrées, and a seafood vol-au-vent.

Fleetwide since 2026, Red Ginger’s menu also includes 12 Nikkei dishes (Japanese-Peruvian fusion) developed by master chef Gustavo Sugay.
Jacques Restaurant (replacing Ember) is a 124-seat specialty venue, complimentary but reservation-only for dinner. Designed as a traditional French bistro, it honors master chef Jacques Pépin and offers menus developed in collaboration with Oceania Cruises’ Executive Culinary Directors Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale.

The Culinary Center hosts cooking classes and demonstrations, including the “Gourmet Explorer Series” and the exclusive “La Technique” class focusing on Jacques Pépin’s culinary methods. Its private dining room can be reserved for special events.
Aquamar Kitchen is a wellness-focused specialty venue (surcharge applies), offering organic, healthy, and vegetarian options, along with wine tastings and a seven-course dinner menu.

Itineraries
Oceania Allura’s itinerary program (regions, destinations, and homeports) was announced in September 2023.
For her inaugural 2025 season, Allura was deployed in Europe and the Mediterranean. The schedule comprised 26 voyages ranging from 7 to 43 days, visiting 92 different ports and destinations.
Originally scheduled as a 7-day Eastern Mediterranean/Aegean maiden voyage from Piraeus-Athens to Istanbul, the inaugural cruise was postponed multiple times due to construction delays and ultimately revised to a July 2025 Mediterranean itinerary.
The Mediterranean program included ports in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, and the islands of the Western and Eastern Mediterranean. Following a 43-day transatlantic crossing to North America, Allura operated a Canada and New England season, followed by the winter 2025–2026 Caribbean deployment.
In the Caribbean, Allura is homeported in Miami, Florida, with itineraries visiting destinations across the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.

Oceania Allura Wiki
On January 8, 2019, shipowner NCLH (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd) announced a shipbuilding order with Fincantieri for two vessels planned for Oceania Cruises. Both units belong to the new ALLURA Class and are part of the fleet expansion project OceaniaNEXT. The newbuilds were designed and constructed by Fincantieri and delivered in 2023 (Vista) and 2025 (Allura).
The vessel (Fincantieri Sestri Ponente hull number 6309) is registered under shipowner NCL BAHAMAS LTD, while her current ship manager is O CLASS PLUS TWO LLC.
The 67,000 GT ALLURA-class ships have capacity for 1,200 passengers plus 800 staff and crew. These mid-sized newbuilds are similar in design and onboard amenities to Oceania’s 2011–2012 ships Riviera and Marina. The contract price for each vessel is approximately EUR 575 million per unit. NCLH secured export credit financing on favorable terms to fund 80% of the total contract price, subject to certain Italian government approvals. As of 2019, NCLH had 10 cruise ships on order, with deliveries scheduled through 2027. Of these, seven units were for NCL-Norwegian, two for Oceania, and one for RSSC-Regent.
Oceania officially announced the ship’s name, Allura, on January 31, 2023.
The ship’s namesake is Royal Caribbean’s OASIS-class liner Allure of the Seas (built in 2010).
Oceania Allura (hull/Sestri Ponente yard number 6309) was launched and floated out from drydock on July 1, 2024. The ceremony was led by godmother Caterina Romeo (a Fincantieri employee and designer in the company’s technical department) and attended by Frank A. Del Rio (President of Oceania Cruises).
In June 2025, during the Food & Wine Classic event (June 20–22) in Aspen, featuring cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and panel discussions, it was announced that Allura’s godparents would be alumni of Food & Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs program. The announcement was made by Hunter Lewis, the magazine’s editor-in-chief since 2017.
Oceania Allura (hull/Sestri Ponente yard number 6309) was officially delivered by Fincantieri on July 10, 2025.
The christening ceremony was held in Miami on November 13, 2025. The event was led by the godparents, a collective of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs: Tavel Bristol-Joseph (Partner, Pastry Chef, and Director of Hospitality for Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group’s seven concepts in Austin and San Antonio), Katie Button (restaurateur, cookbook author, media personality, and Executive Chef and Co-Founder of restaurant group Curate), Calvin Eng (Chef and Owner of the Cantonese-American restaurant Bonnie’s in Williamsburg, Brooklyn), Aisha Ibrahim (Executive Chef at Seattle’s historic restaurant Canlis), George Mendes (Executive Chef of NYC’s Michelin-starred restaurant Aldea), and Lawrence “LT” Smith (former Indianapolis Colts football player and chef specializing in modern Mexican cuisine). The naming ceremony was also attended by Oceania’s senior executives, including Jason Montague (Chief Luxury Officer) and Nathan Hickman (Chief Commercial Officer), Tom Bair (Food & Wine publisher), and three former Oceania ship godmothers—Giada De Laurentiis (Vista), Cat Cora (Riviera), and Claudine Pepin (Sirena).
