MS Douce France cruises on the Rhine River (in Germany and the Netherlands), departing from Strasbourg (France) on round-trip itineraries, as well as one-way voyages departing from Antwerp (Belgium) and Amsterdam (the Netherlands).
Note: In 2017, the vessel underwent a major drydock refurbishment and upgrade, after which she was renamed “MS Douce France II.” During the reconstruction, the number of cabins was reduced from 79 to 62, lowering the ship’s passenger capacity from 160 to 116.
Cabins
MS Douce France offers a total of 62 passenger cabins (each 108 ft² / 10 m²), including 2 suites, 4 single cabins, 55 double cabins, and 1 wheelchair-accessible cabin. Before the 2017 refit, the vessel had 1 suite, 4 triple cabins, and 2 single cabins. Main Deck cabins feature porthole windows (non-opening), while Upper Deck cabins have large picture windows (also non-opening). Each stateroom includes a private bathroom (WC, sink, and shower cubicle), flat-screen TV (satellite reception), radio, phone (for internal calls), hairdryer, electronic safe, and individually controlled air conditioning.
Shipboard Facilities
Onboard amenities include a lounge with a dance floor and bar, a restaurant (Douce France Restaurant), a sundeck with shaded seating, loungers, and deckchairs, a gift shop, and a library. Complimentary bicycles and free Wi-Fi Internet are also available. CroisiEurope’s gourmet dining, paired with organized themed tours featuring local food and wine tastings, allows guests to experience regional cuisine and fine European wines along the cruise routes.
