MS Victor Hugo cruises on the Rhine River, departing from the homeport of Kehl-Strasbourg (Germany–France). In spring, the ship operates “Tulip Time” cruises in Holland and Belgium (on the Dutch inland waterways and the Scheldt River), departing from Amsterdam, Holland and Antwerp, Belgium. During summer, the riverboat cruises the Danube (departing from Budapest, Hungary) and also the Elbe River (departing from Berlin).

Cabins

The riverboat has 49 passenger cabins (all sized 75 ft² / 7 m²), including 5 doubles and 44 twins, in three categories. Main Deck staterooms (29 doubles) have riverview porthole windows (non-opening). Upper Deck cabins (20 doubles) feature large picture windows (also non-opening). Each stateroom includes a private bathroom (WC, sink, shower), satellite TV, radio, telephone (internal calls only), hairdryer, personal safe, and individually controlled air-conditioning.

Shipboard facilities

The ship’s amenities and facilities include a lounge (with dance floor and bar), a dining room (Victor Hugo Restaurant), and a sundeck relaxation area with shaded seating, loungers, and deckchairs. Additional facilities include a gift shop, library, complimentary bicycles, and free Wi-Fi Internet. CroisiEurope’s gourmet dining and themed food-and-wine tasting events allow Victor Hugo’s guests to sample local cuisine and fine European wines along the itinerary.

• MS Victor Hugo’s Rhine River cruises visit small towns and river ports in the following countries: France (Strasbourg), Belgium (Antwerp, Ghent, Lovendegem, Ostend, Brussels, Bruges), and the Netherlands/Holland (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Sneek, Groningen, Nijmegen). All remaining ports are located in Germany.
• The early-summer Danube cruises departing from Budapest and Tokaj also include cruising on the Tisza River (flowing entirely through Hungary). Ports visited include Tiszafüred, Kisköre, Szolnok, Csongrád, Csanytelek, Szeged, as well as Serbian Danube ports such as Novi Knezevac, Novi Sad, Bezdan, Mohacs, and Kalocsa.
• The mid-summer Elbe River cruises depart from Berlin and Hamburg and include cruising on the Spree and Havel rivers in Germany, flowing through the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Saxony.
• France Christmas Market cruises in Strasbourg are offered during the December holidays. The 3-day itinerary includes inner-city Strasbourg canal cruising with sightseeing and Christmas shopping opportunities.

MS Victor Hugo cruise prices are per person, based on double occupancy, and are only indicative of CroisiEurope’s rates. Actual fares may vary depending on travel agency promotions, special offers, discounts, group bookings, or last-minute deals. CroisiEurope cruises on the Rhine and Elbe include all beverages (coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks, and wine and beer served with lunch and dinner), while shore excursions and tours are optional and cost extra.

CroisiEurope river cruise fares include soft drinks and alcoholic beverages (wine and beer with lunch and dinner) year-round. During Europe’s high season (April through October), the line also offers packages with unlimited drinks. However, unlike most river cruise operators, CroisiEurope charges additionally for shore excursions.

In 2017, for the first time, CroisiEurope introduced a beer-themed river cruise. The 5-day itinerary—titled “Beer: Belgium’s Liquid Gold”—operated between Brussels and Ostend, beginning on August 28, 2017. Two additional September 2017 departures were later confirmed. The voyages were operated by the MS Victor Hugo and included visits to five breweries and the Maison des Brasseurs museum (also serving as the headquarters of the Federation of Belgium Brewers).
