Review of ms Elbe Princesse II
French river cruise line CroisiEurope launched in 2018 the Elbe Princesse 2 cruise ship as company's 3rd paddlewheel-powered riverboat. Work on the 90-guest vessel started with the steel-cutting ceremony held in Saint-Nazaire (STX France) on December 8, 2016, following a 4-month design phase.
The new boat was commissioned to increase line's capacity between Berlin and Prague on Elbe and Vltava rivers following the introduction of the paddlewheel ships Loire Princesse in 2015 and Elbe Princesse in 2016. Each has a shallow hull draft specially designed to the navigational limitations of the rivers. The riverboat is powered by 2 stern paddlewheels.
The newbuild was delivered in February 2018. The ship cruises on Elbe River exclusively. The itinerary is between Berlin and Prague, and visits as ports of call Potsdam, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, gardens at Sanssouci Palace, Meissen and Litomerice.
Cabins
Ship's features include 45 outward-facing staterooms with French balconies on the upper deck. As for amenities, each stateroom has private bathroom (WC, sink, shower cabin), satellite TV, radio, phone (only for internal calls), dresser table, hairdryer, personal safe, individual air-conditioning.
