AmaLilia

The 2024-built AmaWaterways ship AmaLilia cruises on the Nile River in Egypt, departing from homeport Luxor. The riverboat is Egypt-flagged with a maximum passenger capacity of 68, in addition to 62 staff and crew.

AmaLilia is AmaWaterways’ 26th fleet member, with a sistership AmaDahlia (2021). AMA's Nile fleet also includes AmaNubia (2026).

When AmaLilia was officially announced on June 15th, 2022, AmaWaterways cited growing demand for Nile cruises as the reason for introducing a second vessel in Egypt.

The vessel features a modern design, floor-to-ceiling windows throughout all public areas and most staterooms, a spacious Sun Deck with a large swimming pool and two whirlpools, and is equipped with the latest maritime technologies.

One passenger elevator and a centrally located staircase interconnect Decks 1 through 4. The Sun Deck is accessible by stairs only.

Decks and Cabins

AmaLilia staterooms (41 total) include 13 twin-balcony suites with outside balconies(a rare feature for Nile River cruise ships), ranging in size from 21 to 40 m² (225 to 430 ft²). There are 6 cabin categories in total. Each stateroom accommodates up to 2 guests (double occupancy).

Of the boat's 5 decks, 4 are dedicated to cabins.

Standard (complimentary) cabin amenities include en-suite bathroom (glass-door shower, rain showerhead, hairdryer, premium bath products), mirrored vanity table with chair, large wardrobe, wireless phone, digital safe box (in the closet), two long-range portable Wi-Fi audio devices (used during tours and excursions), daily replenished bottled water, and thermostat-controlled air conditioning.

Balcony Suites also feature a lounge area with a full-size sofa, a table with two armchairs, a mini-bar (refrigerator), a larger bathroom (with a full-size bathtub), and a step-out veranda.

Each AmaLilia stateroom is equipped with a 42-inch smart HDTV (with local/satellite reception) and an infotainment system offering complimentary Internet, on-demand movies, real-time bridge camera views, and a ship information channel.

Shipboard Facilities

The ship’s dining options include the Journeys Restaurant (Dining Room on Deck 3) and The Chef’s Table (Deck 4), an à la carte venue offering a 7-course menu. Complimentary wine by the glass is served at both restaurants.

The two-deck-high Atrium (Lobby Hall) houses the Reception Desk, Cruise Director’s Office, Boutique Shop, Library, and the main entrances (port and starboard sides).

The teak-floored Sun Deck (Deck 5) features a forward-positioned swimming pool, two whirlpool hot tubs, a sunbathing area with premium padded loungers and garden daybeds, and an outdoor lounge with two covered seating areas furnished with garden couches and tables. The area is served by the Sundeck Bar (aft).

Deck 4 has no cabins and houses the main Bar Lounge (The Lark Lounge & Bar), where nightly live entertainment includes a Galabeya party (guests dress in traditional Egyptian attire), a Darwish dance performance, and a belly dancing show. This deck also includes the Navigation Bridge (Wheelhouse, forward), an outdoor lounge (canopy-covered aft terrace), The Chef’s Table Restaurant (aft).

The ship’s wellness complex is on Acacia Deck (1st floor) and consists of a Fitness (gym room with Technogym equipment), a spa (two treatment rooms for massages), and a Beauty Salon (hairdresser and nail studio).

AmaLilia cruise fares are inclusive of Internet/Wi-Fi, all tours and excursions (including guided bike tours), ground transfers, nightly live entertainment (by local performers), daily enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee/tea, and bottled water (replenished daily).

AmaLilia cruise prices are per person based on double occupancy. Prices are indicative and may vary depending on booking time, special offers, group rates, or last-minute deals. AmaWaterways also offers discounted airfare packages with major airlines, without flight deviation fees, for Nile cruises.

AmaWaterways Nile Cruisetour Itineraries

AmaLilia cruises on the Nile River in Egypt starting in September 2024. The 11-night cruisetour includes a 7-night roundtrip cruise from Luxor, plus 3 pre-cruise nights and 1 post-cruise night at the 5-star Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at First Residence. This hotel package is included in the AmaWaterways Egypt cruise fare.

The 11-night/12-day itinerary ("Secrets of Egypt and the Nile") includes complimentary domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor. These flights are available seasonally from September through May. Optional pre- and post-cruise packages include 3 nights in Dubai UAE, 4 nights in Jordan (Amman City, Petra), and 4 nights in Israel (Jerusalem).

This luxury cruise offers guided visits to UNESCO-designated sites, such as the Karnak Temple complex (Great Hypostyle Hall), Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens (including Queen Nefertari’s Tomb), and Aswan (Nubian Village).

Optional Cairo tours include the Egyptian Museum, Abdeen Palace, Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx.
