AmaVerde

The 2011-built AmaVerde cruises along the Danube River, departing from homeports in Budapest, Hungary, Prague, Czechia, and Vilshofen, Germany. Accommodating 161 passengers, AmaVerde was Europe’s second “Twin Balcony” ship at the time of her debut in 2011, following AmaBella (2010).

AmaVerde has a total of 85 cabins, including 5 Suites, 51 Twin Balcony staterooms, 10 French Balcony staterooms, and 19 cabins with fixed windows, distributed across 9 categories.

Shipboard Facilities

AmaVerde offers a variety of dining venues, including Verde (main dining room), Bella Cucina (Italian), the Chef’s Table (tasting menu), a private Wine Bar, and alfresco dining on the Sun Deck. At the Erlebnis Chef’s Table, an exclusive 24-seat venue, guests can enjoy a tasting menu prepared live by a private chef. On select days, outdoor lunch is also available on the Sun Deck.

The Sun Deck features lounge chairs, a putting green, a heated pool and Jacuzzi with a swim-up bar, and a walking track. The Violin Deck houses the Erlebnis Chef’s Table, Observation Lounge, Main Lounge & Bar, gift shop, library, fitness room, sauna, and hair salon. Another Wine Bar is located on the Cello Deck. Additional amenities include a giant chess set and a passenger elevator (connecting the Cello and Violin decks).

AmaVerde cruise fares are inclusive of shipwide Internet (Wi-Fi), all shore excursions (including guided bike tours), ground transfers, daily enrichment lectures, live evening entertainment with local performers, wine and food tastings, 24-hour coffee/tea stations, and daily replenished bottled water.

River cruise prices are listed per person based on double occupancy. These are indicative rates and may vary depending on special offers, travel agency promotions, group bookings, or last-minute deals. AmaWaterways also offers discounted airfare packages on major airlines without charging flight deviation fees.

River Cruise Itineraries

Below are the themed river cruise itineraries offered aboard AmaVerde:

• "Melodies of the Danube" – 10-day itineraries (with 7 days of sailing) from Budapest to Prague or Munich (disembarkation in Vilshofen).
• "The Romantic Danube" – 12-day itineraries from Prague to Budapest, including a 2-night luxury hotel stay in Prague. The cruise includes 7 optional and 10 complimentary land excursions, plus a 3-night hotel package (in Prague or Munich).
• "Magnificent Europe" – 16-day cruises (15 sailing days) between Budapest and Amsterdam, with reverse sailings also available. The itinerary includes 5 optional and 16 complimentary land excursions.

The APT AmaVerde was the second vessel in AmaWaterways’ newest generation of Concerto-class river cruise ships, joining sisterships AmaBella, AmaCerto, AmaPrima, AmaReina, AmaSerena, AmaSonata, and AmaVenita. This new APT river cruise ship design features the innovative “Twin Balcony” concept, combining a French balcony with a second, covered step-out veranda for all-weather enjoyment. Each of these vessels is powered by two Caterpillar marine diesel engines (model C32 DITA ACERT, V-12), with a total output of 1900 kW / 2550 HP.

The vessel’s hull and superstructure were constructed at the Vahali Shipyard in Belgrade, Serbia. Vahali Shipyard, founded in 1923 as Scheepswerf en Machinefabriek Vahali BV, operates facilities in Serbia (Belgrade and Zasavica) and the Netherlands (Gendt). The Zasavica shipyard was officially opened in 2013. After completion of the primary construction in Serbia, AmaVerde was towed to the Gendt shipyard in Holland for final outfitting.

The AMA cruise ship AmaVerde was launched on May 24, 2011, and christened in Vienna, Austria, by Mrs. Judy Vanrenen—founder and co-owner of APT Botanica. "Botanica World Discoveries" is a division of APT Touring (part of the APT Group) that specializes in themed travel, including river cruises and land tours of homes, castles, and world-renowned botanical gardens.

All AmaWaterways ships carry complimentary bicycles stored on the sundeck, available for guests to use during shore excursions and port tours throughout each cruise itinerary.
