Viking Bragi Review
Review of Viking Bragi
Longship Viking Bragi cruises on the Danube, Rhine, and Main rivers in Holland, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, France, and Switzerland, departing from Amsterdam, Budapest, and Basel. This Viking longship is named after Bragi – in Norse mythology, the god of poetry and music, and son of Odin.
The state-of-the-art Viking Bragi longship was designed as a “green ship” by the renowned architects Yran & Storbraaten, featuring solar panels, hybrid energy-efficient engines, and an organic herb garden.

The vessel (ENI number 7001961) is currently Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057415) and registered in Basel.

The Aquavit Terrace is located at the ship’s bow and offers both indoor and outdoor seating with floor-to-ceiling windows. The Sun Deck’s shaded seating area provides an ideal setting to enjoy the passing scenery while cruising. Onboard amenities also include an Observation Lounge, Atrium (lobby), Library (with Internet access), Shop (gifts and souvenirs), Sky Bar, Herbal Garden, putting green, walking track, and shuffleboard. The Bragi longship does not have a gym, pool, jacuzzi, or spa.
Viking Bragi cruise fares include Wi-Fi Internet, all tours and excursions, ground transfers, live evening entertainment, daily lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee and tea, and replenished daily bottled water.

Viking Bragi Wiki
Transfers to and from the Viking Bragi, as well as airport meet-and-greet services, are included in the fares only when airfare is purchased through Viking Cruises.
Viking Bragi is part of the latest generation of Viking Cruises longships. This patented river cruise ship design allows for larger accommodations without reducing public area space or compromising overall onboard comfort. The ship represents the line’s Longship-class river vessel concept. Viking Cruises longships feature energy-efficient hybrid engine technology, solar panels, and interior design by "Yran & Storbraaten" (Norway). The patented longship design (by "Rottet Studios", USA) enables significantly larger passenger accommodations with full-size balconies. The additional cabin space is achieved by shifting the corridor off-center by 1 m (3.3 ft).
The riverboat’s godmother is Dr. Dertje Meijer – CEO of Port Amsterdam, board member of Amsterdam Cruise Port, and a member of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO). The ship’s christening ceremony was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, setting a Guinness World Record for "Most Ships Inaugurated in One Day by One Company". On March 20, 2013, Bragi was inaugurated together with the Viking longships Aegir, Atla, Embla, Forseti, Jarl, Rinda, Skadi, Tor, and Var. Four of the longships were present in Amsterdam, while the other six participated via live satellite link from the Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock, Germany.
