AmaSiena

The 2020-built/2021-inaugurated AmaSiena ship cruises on Danube, Main, Rhine and Moselle rivers departing from homeports Amsterdam, Basel, Nuremberg, Luxembourg City. The 160-passenger AmaSiena is among AmaWaterways' newest riverboats (fleet's 24th vessel)

The boat was scheduled to enter service in July 2020, but due to the Coronavirus crisis, its inauguration was postponed for August 2021.

AmaSiena's sisterships (from the modified Concerto-class series) are the fleetmates AmaKristina (2016), AmaLea (2018), AmaLucia (2021), AmaMora (2019), AmaStella (2016), AmaViola (2016).

The vessel (ENI number 7002135) is Switzerland-flagged (MMSI 269057727) and registered in Basel.

Cabins

AmaSiena has a total of 79 staterooms (in 8 grades and on 3 decks out of 4), including 4x Suites, 45x Twin Balcony, 18x French Balconies, 12x with non-opening windows. The riverboat features an advanced design and AMA's exclusive Twin Balconies available in most cabins (sized 210-235 ft2 / 20-22 m2). The Suites are sized 350 ft2 / 33 m2 (balconies included).

Ship's restaurants include Main Dining Room, Chef’s Table (tasting menu), Wine Bar (private), Sun Deck (alfresco). Guests can have gourmet dining and free-flowing wines at multiple dining venues.

The ship also has an Observation Lounge (with al fresco Teak Front Deck), Main Lounge & Bar, Siena Atrium (lobby), Fireside Library, Gift Shop, Fitness & Sauna, top-deck (pool/jacuzzi, sundeck loungers and shaded relaxation area, swim-up bar, giant chess, putting green, walking track), 1 elevator (passenger lift).

AmaSiena cruise deals are inclusive of the Internet (and Wi-Fi), all tours/excursions (including on bikes), ground transfers, live evening entertainment (local performers), daily enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee/tea, replenished daily bottled water.

AmaSiena cruises on Rhine River on the routes Amsterdam-Basel, Amsterdam-Luxembourg and Nuremberg-Luxembourg. Follows the list of AmaWaterways AmaSiena itineraries (all 7-day in length) as themes:

• "VINEYARDS OF THE RHINE and MOSELLE" is from Amsterdam to Luxembourg, with optional 2-night Amsterdam hotel (pre-cruise package) and 3-night Paris France hotel (post-cruise package).
• "ENCHANTING RHINE" itinerary is on the Amsterdam-Basel route, with optional 2-night Lucerne hotel (pre-cruise package) and 2-night Zurich hotel (pre-cruise package).
• "CAPTIVATING RHINE" itinerary is on the Amsterdam-Basel route, with optional 2-night Amsterdam hotel and 2-night Lucerne hotel (pre-cruise package) and 2-night Zurich hotel (pre-cruise package).

Starting in 2022, AMA's riverboat AmaSiena also operates on the Dutch-Belgium inland waterways with the "BEST OF HOLLAND and BELGIUM" itinerary.

• The 7-night roundtrip from Amsterdam starts with an Amsterdam canal cruising.
• Departure from Amsterdam is on Day 2 when is also visited Utrecht (tour to Speelklok /organ museum, optional Castle de Haar or bike tour).
• On Day 3 is visited Veere (town walking tour or Flood Museum & Roosevelt House or Middleburg bike tour).
• On Day 4 is visited Ghent (town walking tour or bike tour or Bruges City tour).
• On Day 5 is visited Brussels (city tour or Battle of the Bulge day tour or bike tour or Beersel Castle tour or Belgian chocolate tasting).
• On Day 6 is visited Antwerp (walking city tour or bike tour or Belgian beer tour).
• On Day 7 the boat stops in Dordrecht (walking tour or excursion to Rotterdam and Delfshaven or excursion to Gorinchem or bike tour) and in Kinderdijk (windmills visit or bike tour).
• The debarkation (in Amsterdam) is on Day 8.
• A 2-night Amsterdam hotel package (pre-cruise) can be also added.

The company's wine-themed river cruises feature renowned wine connoisseurs as guest lecturers on the ship.

APT AmaSiena boat is among the company's newest river cruise ships of the modified Concerto-class, with sisterships AmaKrisitna (2016), AmaLea (2018), AmaLucia (2021), AmaMora (2019), AmaStella (2016), AmaViola (2016). This is a new APT riverboat design featuring the "Twin Balcony" stateroom concept. It combines the traditional French Balcony with a second (covered, step-out) open-air verandah for all-weather use. Each of these riverboats is powered by two "Caterpillar" marine diesel engines (model "C32 DITA ACERT" V-12, total power output 1900 kW / 2550 HP).

The name of the boat's godmother was officially announced in late-October 2019. Debbie Fiorino is the COO and Senior VP of World Travel Holdings Inc (2003-founded US company, headquartered in Wilmington MA) which is currently ranked the world's largest cruise travel agency.

AmaSiena's inaugural cruise was originally scheduled for July 22, 2020, with the christening ceremony planned for mid-August 2020. However, due to the COVID crisis, the boat's inauguration was postponed for 2021. The naming ceremony of AMA's 26th boat was held on September 1, 2021, in Lahnstein Germany. The special event (led by Godmother Debbie Fiorino) was attended by the VIP guests Rudi Schreiner (AmaWaterways’ President) and Kristin Karst (AMA's Executive VP).

The vessel's construction (hull and superstructure, ENI number 7002135) was done at the Vahali Shipyard in Zasavica (Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia). The 1923-founded Dutch shipbuilding company (Scheepswerf En Machinefabriek Vahali BV) owns and operates yards in Serbia (Belgrade, and Zasavica) and in Holland (Gendt). Vahali Shipyard Zasavica was officially opened in 2013. Following the construction in Serbia, the AmaSiena ship was towed to Holland for final outfitting at Scheepswerf Vahali (Gendt).

All AMAwaterways ships provide complimentary bicycles (stored on the boat's sundeck) on shore excursions/tours in each port along the cruise itineraries.
