AmaDahlia

The 2021-built AmaWaterways AmaDahlia cruise ship sails on the Nile River in Egypt, departing from its homeport in Luxor. The vessel is Egypt-flagged and has a maximum passenger capacity of 68, with a crew of 62. This newbuild was inaugurated in September 2021.

AmaDahlia is the 25th vessel in the AmaWaterways fleet and has a sistership, the 2024-built AmaLilia. Another vessel, AmaLucia, was also launched in 2021.

This riverboat features a modern design, floor-to-ceiling windows in all public areas and most cabins, a spacious Sundeck with a large swimming pool and two whirlpools, and state-of-the-art maritime technologies. One passenger elevator and a centrally located staircase connect decks 1 through 4. Access to the Sundeck is via stairs only.

Decks and Cabins

AmaDahlia has 34 staterooms, including 24 full-balcony suites—a rare feature on Nile cruise ships. Suite sizes range from 21 to 40 m² (225–430 ft²), and there are seven cabin categories. All staterooms accommodate up to two guests in double-occupancy arrangements. Of the ship’s five decks, three contain passenger cabins.

Standard amenities in all staterooms include an en-suite bathroom (with a glass-door shower, rain showerhead, hairdryer, and premium bath products), a mirrored vanity table with chair, a large wardrobe, wireless phone, in-closet electronic safe, two portable long-range Wi-Fi audio devices (for use on tours), complimentary bottled water (replenished daily), and thermostat-controlled air conditioning. Balcony Suites also feature a lounge area with a full-size sofa, a table with two armchairs, a mini-bar (refrigerator), a larger bathroom with a full-size bathtub, and a step-out veranda.

All cabins come with a 42-inch smart HDTV (with local/satellite channels) featuring an infotainment system offering complimentary Internet, on-demand movies, real-time bridge cam, and ship information channel.

Shipboard Facilities

The ship offers two restaurants: the Dining Room (Deck 3) and The Chef’s Table (Deck 4), an à la carte venue featuring a 7-course tasting menu. Complimentary wine by the glass is served at both venues. The two-deck high Atrium (Lobby Hall) includes the Reception Desk, Cruise Director’s Office, Boutique Shop, and portside/starboard ship entrances.

Deck 5 (Sun Deck) features teak flooring throughout and is equipped with a forward swimming pool, two whirlpool hot tubs, a sunbathing area with premium loungers and garden daybeds, and an outdoor lounge with two roof-covered seating areas furnished with cushioned couches and tables. The aft Sundeck Bar provides full beverage service.

Deck 4 is dedicated to public spaces and contains the Bar Lounge (forward), hosting nightly live entertainment including Galabeya parties (with traditional dress), Darwish dance shows, and belly dancing. Also on Deck 4 are the Navigation Bridge (Wheelhouse, forward), an aft Outdoor Lounge (canopy-covered terrace), The Chef’s Table Restaurant (aft-starboard), and the ship’s wellness complex—featuring a fitness room with Technogym equipment, two spa massage rooms, and a beauty salon (hairdresser and nail studio).

AmaDahlia cruise fares are inclusive of Internet/Wi-Fi, all shore excursions (including guided bike tours), ground transfers, nightly local entertainment, enrichment lectures, food and wine tastings, 24-hour coffee/tea service, and replenished bottled water.

AmaWaterways Nile Cruisetour Itineraries

AmaDahlia's Nile River cruises began in September 2021. The 11-night cruisetour includes a 7-night roundtrip sailing from Luxor, plus a 3-night pre-cruise and 1-night post-cruise stay in Cairo at the 5-star Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence. The hotel stay is included in the cruise fare.

The 11-night/12-day itinerary, themed “Secrets of Egypt and the Nile,” includes domestic flights between Cairo and Luxor (included in the fare) and is available seasonally from September through May. Optional pre-cruise extensions include 3 nights in Dubai, UAE or 4 nights in Jordan (Amman and Petra), and a post-cruise extension of 4 nights in Israel (Jerusalem).

The itinerary offers guests a luxurious journey through Egypt, with visits to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Expert-guided excursions (included in the fare) feature the Karnak Temple Complex, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings and Queens (including Nefertari’s Tomb), and Aswan (Nubian Village).

From Cairo, optional tours include the Egyptian Museum, Abdeen Palace (presidential workplace), the Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Sphinx.
